Year 5 had a fabulous day at The Space Centre in Leicester. Pupils made rockets, experienced The Planetarium and took part in an interactive workshop. Year 5 were amazed to see an actual fragment of rock from the moon and historical space suits. The visit fuelled curiosity about what lies beyond planet earth. Thank you to the wonderful staff who ran workshops!

Year 5 had a fabulous day at The Space Centre Leicester, making links with our Space project. We experienced the Planetarium which was brilliant. Pupils made rockets which were then launched at a moon target using pressurised air. There were some great answers and questions in an interactive workshop about the solar system, phases of the moon and why we have seasons. Year 5 were amazed to see an actual fragment of rock from the moon and the historical space suits. This visit inspired everyone and fuelled curiosity about what lies beyond planet earth. Thank you to the wonderful staff who led the workshops, it was great!

👨‍🔬🧬During what has been a very interactive day, in Science, Prep 6 continued their learning of the🫀circulatory system by looking at our blood 🩸 and vessels. Amazing how cereal, marshmallows and orange 🍊 squash can be such a great illustration for what can be found under the microscope 🔬

🏺🗺️ 👨🏼👩🏿Prep 6’s Humanities lesson today included mapping out the Transatlantic Slave Trade route, including the Middle Passage. While looking at all the different commodities that were traded between continents, Prep 6 also focused principally on the human cost and how this fits with our exploratory focus. An eye-opening moment! ⚓️👨🏿👩🏻
