What difference could a Tissue Viability Veterinary Nurse make at your practice? Not only to one wound case, but to the patient, client and entire practice team?
We’ve been working behind the scenes with Amelia Sherwood RVN founder of the Tissue Viability Vet Nurse to develop Building the Tissue Viability Veterinary Nurse Role.
This will be the first standalone module released from a full Tissue Viability Vet Nurse course currently under development.
At its heart is a real life wound case that didn’t follow a straightforward path. You’ll explore what happened, the decisions made along the way and how greater use of the veterinary nursing team could have changed the experience for everyone involved.
The module will help RVNs and SVNs explore:
• what tissue viability means within veterinary practice
• how the TVVN role can support patients, clients and the wider clinical team
• how RVNs can use their skills appropriately within Schedule 3 and under veterinary direction
• some of the barriers that can prevent nurse's skills from being fully utilised
• practical ways to begin developing and advocating for the role within your own practice
The course not only covers what the role of the TVVN looks like, but will also help you recognise what you can contribute now, where you want to develop and how you might begin turning that into meaningful change in practice.
Building the Tissue Viability Veterinary Nurse Role is coming soon to PeerVet.
