🐾🩺 Ffion has a dream of becoming a veterinary surgeon - and she's been working hard to make it happen!

After studying Animal Care at Coleg Gwent, Ffion progressed to Access to HE Bioscience to build her knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, while also resitting GCSE Maths to achieve the grade needed for her next step.

And that hard work recently paid off! 🎉 Ffion achieved an incredible 42 Distinctions and 3 Merits, alongside a C in GCSE Maths 👏

💼✨ After nearly 30 years working in Health and Social Care, Salli decided it was time for a career change.

Just before turning 50, she enrolled on our part-time CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice, fitting her studies around work and family commitments.

Within months, Salli's new skills helped her take the next step into a temporary HR Advisor position. After completing Level 3, she secured a permanent HR Advisor role and progressed to our CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management 🙌

🎉🧪 It's been two great Results Days for Thomas at our Torfaen Learning Zone!

Not only did Thomas achieve a Distinction Merit in Level 2 Applied Science, he's also celebrating achieving a C in GCSE Maths 👏

After starting out on a completely different path, Thomas discovered his ambition to become a paramedic and made the decision to change direction and study Applied Science.

💬 "I'd describe my experience at Coleg Gwent as life-changing. Everyone is so nice, and you can have your own personality here. You can just be yourself, and I love it." – Thomas

Now he's progressing to Level 3 Applied Science, with his sights set on studying Paramedic Science at university and becoming a paramedic 🚑

After resitting GCSE English several times and coming close to the grade she wanted, Ruby's determination has paid off with an incredible B grade! 🎉

Ruby, who is a BSL student and received support from a Communication Support Worker (CSW) during her English studies, also achieved a Merit in Level 2 Animal Care at our Usk Campus 👏

💬 "She is such a tenacious character and never gives up. Even with barriers, she continues to overcome them. She's such a driven and determined person, and I couldn't be prouder." - Lisa Jones

Alongside her studies, Ruby has been a valued member of our BSL Deaf Club, where she's made new friends and taken part in trips, social activities and wellbeing sessions 💙

Ruby now hopes to continue working with animals, potentially in a zoo or veterinary setting 🐾
