A proud moment for our school!
We are delighted to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection.
The report reflects what we see every day: a school where our children are known, cared for and supported to thrive, and where our staff work incredibly hard to give every child the very best.
We are so proud of our whole school community and incredibly grateful to our children, staff, families and governors for everything they bring to OLSJ every day.
We look forward to continuing our journey together, always striving to be the very best we can be.

During their exciting Year 6 residential visit to Robinwood, the children took part in a wide range of adventurous activities, including archery, escape rooms, canoeing, climbing, caving, the Piranha Pool, zip wire and the high swing. They showed excellent teamwork, cooperating and supporting one another throughout every challenge. The children demonstrated resilience, responsibility and determination, stepping outside their comfort zones, building confidence and, most importantly, having lots of fun together.

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day at the YMT Festival in Consett. It was a wonderful opportunity to work alongside friends from across our cluster schools and an important part of our transition programme as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
As always, the children were a real credit to our school, demonstrating exemplary behaviour throughout the day. The festival provided a fitting celebration of their journey through primary school, recognising both their educational achievements and their spiritual growth. We are incredibly proud of them and the
positive way they represented our school.

Year 4 and Year 5 enjoyed a peaceful creative prayer on Transition Day. Reflecting on God’s creation, the children used natural materials to create beautiful representations of the world around them and give thanks for His gifts.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the children at Sports Day.
It was fantastic to see the children having so much fun, giving their all in every race, and showing such enthusiasm throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of them all for their effort, determination, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Yellow House, our overall winners – a wonderful achievement!
A very special thank you also goes to our amazing PTA, who kindly provided extra water and ice pops for all the children. We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated and supportive team who always go above and beyond for our children.
As always, events like these would not be possible without the continued support of our families and school community. Thank you for helping to make the day such a memorable and enjoyable success for everyone involved!

Year 5 recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to London and were outstanding ambassadors for our school. Highlights included Buckingham Palace, a tour of London's famous landmarks, and a visit to the House of Commons, where the children stood at the dispatch box and experienced democracy in action.
The day also included a delicious meal at Pizza Express and plenty of opportunities to learn, explore and make lasting memories. Although it was a long day, it was a wonderful experience for everyone, and we hope it will become an annual Year 5 tradition.
Well done, Year 5. We are incredibly proud of you all
