From Florist to Mentor
As I’ve grown into an international, award-winning floral designer and influencer, it has felt natural for me to step into mentoring the next generation of floral talent.
My 30-year journey in the floral industry hasn’t been a straight line. I started as that florist on minimum wage, working in retail shops, managing stores, and eventually running two shops of my own. I’ve worked with an online floral company, a Christmas company, and an events business, each experience teaching me something invaluable.
Luxury has always played a part in shaping my path. From my time working on the world’s most exclusive cruise line, the QE2, where luxury was instilled in me, to my company becoming the in-house florist at the Four Seasons Tower Bridge for seven years, I learned what it truly means to design at the highest level.
In 2010, I founded Paula Rooney Ltd, and in 2024, Paula Rooney Mallorca S.L. Little did I know back then that all of this experience would prepare me for one of my most fulfilling roles yet, becoming The Floral Mentor.
But the real turning point came when I started to invest in myself. The courses I studied, the books I read, and the business coach I still work with today completely changed my career. That was the moment everything shifted.
Now, as a mentor, I help florists lay strong foundations in business, develop a growth mindset, create a vision and plan, and most importantly build the confidence, self-belief, and self-love that allows them to flourish.
My next mentorship programs begin this November and January.
