Are you interested in buying school uniform at rock bottom prices, getting free advice to ensure your income is maximised, or learning more about keeping your home warm for less?

We know that a new school year can often bring with it financial pressures, so in partnership with local organisations we are running a series of events across the borough to provide support.

Local businesses are offering quality school uniform at significantly reduced prices, with specialist staff from the council, Citizens Advice, and partners (as pictured) on hand to help you make sure you’re getting all the financial support you’re entitled to, save money on your energy bills, and find out more about free summer holiday activities.

At the end of our first successful event last week at Rebuild with Hope in Wigan, nearly 1,000 school uniform items had been sold at hugely discounted prices.

Details of the next events are:

31 July 24 at Dorset Road Community Centre, 31 Dorset Road, Atherton, M46 9GJ

01 August 24 at Ince Community Centre, Manchester Road, WN2 2DJ

08 August 24 at Clifton Street Community Centre, Wigan, WN3 5HN

14 August at Fur Clemt, 84 Montrose Avenue, Wigan, WN5 9XN

20 August at Leigh Library, Civic Square, Leigh, WN7 1EB

All events are taking place between 10.30am - 2.30pm and are likely to be very busy, so get yourself down there, we hope to see you soon!

☀️☀️☀️SUMMER STAFF WANTED!!! ☀️☀️☀️

We are recruiting Summer staff to join our team! – No previous experience necessary!😊

If your bedroom is immaculate, your homework is in on time and you choose to walk to places rather than rely on lifts, then you are probably the type of person we are looking for!

Ideally, you would be outgoing, good at communicating, not afraid of stairs and good at folding jumpers (lots of them!)🤣

If you can manage without being glued to your phone for at least a couple hours a day (tricky I know but not impossible) then it sounds like we’re looking for you!

It’s hard work during August but the hours are plentiful and it’s a great way to earn some money quickly and take term time off to concentrate on your studies.

This job suits students as the work is during the Summer Holidays and many of our recruits come back every Summer! Minimum age is 16 years old.

The last 3 weeks of August are by far our busiest, if you have holidays booked during this time, we aren’t able to authorise them (it’s the same for all our team)!

If you’re interested in the position, please email [email protected] with a little bit about yourself and why you think you would be a good addition to our team!

Deadline is 22nd May.

Please tag and share this post👍

Currently, approximately 80% of the food crops grown in the world are annual plants.

Perennial crops can be harvested more than once without replanting and improve the quality of the soil because their deep root systems bind the soil to reduce soil structure decline, erosion and dust. 🌾
