Helen Griffiths Dressage Instructor Experienced Dressage Instructor in the South West. My passion is dressage and developing the potential of horse and rider.

I have ridden to Prix St George level and am currently competing two horses, Velocity III at Advanced Medium and Don Dario at Advanced. I'm a List 5 Judge with British Dressage and have been a dressage trainer now for 20 years and more. The training has taken me as far afield as New Zealand, USA and Australia. As a rider and competitor myself, I understand the challenges of dressage and hence as a

trainer I feel I can empathise with my pupils and offer a relaxed yet informative and instructive approach. I enjoy teaching at all levels including Riding Club and Pony Club, as well as specialist dressage and event riders. I have been the South West BYRDS Rep and believe that I have a particular ability to enable youngsters to recognise their potential and work with them to help realise that potential. I run dressage clinics at various locations in the South of England including Bicton Arena in Devon. One of my strengths as a trainer is to assess the combination of horse and rider and to work on the combination rather than the horse or the rider. I like to think that I can inspire and encourage hence enabling people to obtain a belief in themselves and tackle things (dressage related!) that they hadn't thought possible.

Super day as always with Helen Griffiths Dressage Instructor 😀
Some great work from horses and riders with getting lateral work correct in walk and taking it through to the other paces.

Helen's next date is already fully booked!

And the September date has just been updated to Sunday 13th September, so as to not clash with the Quest Semi-finals 🎊, bookings are now open!

What a glorious day with Helen Griffiths Dressage Instructor, sunshine and light breeze made a perfect day for some dressage training with a lovely bunch of regulars 😊

From a quick refresh to planning making a floor plan for dressage to music, there was plenty of positivity today and plenty happy faces!

Only a few days 'til she's back again 🫶

Super day at Royal Windsor Horse Show with The Pony Club Home International Dressage Team Competition. A win for England, 2nd Wales and 3rd Ireland .There was great riding ,a real sense of camaraderie throughout the nations and a very special occasion. Thank you to all involved .

Well, we certainly got our fill of "April showers" today, including a not so pleasant hail one 🙈
But it was another brilliant day with Helen Griffiths Dressage Instructor. We love how she can work with all abilities of horse and rider and get the best out of both ☺️

We have realised that the next one falls on Devon County Show, so we will probably change the date to the Sunday or Monday.. watch this space for updates!

Another brilliant day with Helen Griffiths Dressage Instructor 😁
It stayed dry ✔️ even if a little chilly 🥶 and lots of great work by with horses and riders!

Next one currently is 11th April... bookings now open! Helen Griffiths Dressage HG1104

Although, there has apparently been some interest (direct to Helen) about her doing a weekday?? 🤔 Possibly a Wednesday??
If there is enough interest, we will look at this option too!

Well the weather stayed true to form and remained significantly damp all day 💦

However, we were very grateful to have Helen back at Newhall bringing her never-ending enthusiasm and knowledge 😀 From bringing out the best in young horses to spicing up established pairs for that extra umph, we had lots of happy riders and horses.

Our March date is already nearly fully booked (just one space left) so don't delay in messaging us if you want it!
