Pontcanna and Canton WI is a branch of the Women's Institute who meet for 7:30pm, every 2nd Wednesday This is our WI. We’ll save you a biscuit!
We get together on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 7.30pm, currently online (when we can physically it will be in the Church Hall, Kings Road, Cardiff). Previously we have had a go at skills and hobbies, learnt how to be more savvy about health, money, safety and supported many local charities, causes and events. A wonderful shop for knitters!
Our next meeting is Wednesday 8th April 7.30 - 9.30pm (arrive 7.20).
We will have a demonstration of FUROSHIKI - the Japanese art of gift wrapping
If you wish to “have a go” bring along a box ( no smaller than a typical shoe box ) and an empty wine bottle and fabric ( polyester / silk ) at least 70 x 70 cms square Or simply turn up and watch with interest!
You can visit our friendly, diverse group of women three times before you need to decide whether to join as a member An evening is typically a talk or demonstration followed by free time to chat and relax with a cup of coffee or tea and biscuits ( sometimes it’s cake! )
We meet at the Church of God church hall Kings Road ( Llandaff Fields end opposite the Coop )

This Saturday 17 Jan 2026 is our first Repair Cafe event for 2026 at Chapter Arts Centre Market Rd Canton Cardiff. Our volunteers are available from 11.00-1.00 to repair your broken items. All repairs are free of charge. We have IT repairers who can help with hardware and software problems, updating to the latest Windows system or looking at alternatives. Our sewing repairers can carry out garment repairs and also help with learning how to use your sewing machine (bring along the machine as well as the instruction manual if you have it). Electrical repairers can look at broken electrical items such as vacuum cleaners, toasters, hair dryers etc. It's always worth checking before buying new. We have 2 volunteers who carry out jewellery, ceramics, toys, and other miscellaneous repairs. You can bring along knives, scissors and garden tools for sharpening and there is a volunteer to help with bike repairs and maintenance. All are welcome. Any queries e-mail [email protected].

Canton Library is hosting its first Lunar New Year Marketplace on Sat 14 Feb 11am-3pm. Come and experience themed stalls everything oriental from craft to food and much more!
Definitely worth making a note of these dates!
