Coming Together.
One of the regular comments we got about the Bredon Hill Cup was how wonderful it was to see multiple arts together. These medalists from the Adult Best Moves competition had entries in TaeKwonDo, Tai Chi and Iaido. Dave at the back also does Ensodo and TaeKwonDo, and Daniel on the left does SAMA. So five of our arts (and actually five different clubs too) in one happy picture.

Ah, that's nice. A gentle reminder that our classes in Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire are closed for our half term week at the end of October, and the Instructors are probably heading for the seaside. 🌊

Deeply philosophical. All our arts are taught with a commitment to the history, culture and philosophy that gave rise to them. You can see the philosophy in action just looking at this picture of Iaido teacher Sensei Barry Jones. How calm it is. Teenagers.
Though there were some truly wonderful performances by all ages at the Bredon Hill Cup, we don't want the super-cute little ones and the stunning older ones to overshadow the contribution of the teenagers, with Blockley TKD's teenagers in particular featuring strongly. Well done to them!

Missing Tai Chi in the park already? All summer, our Tai Chi runs outdoors, thanks to our partners at Fairfield Parish Council, Wychavon Parks, Bromsgrove Community Arts, Coughton Court, and Peopleton Village Hall. From mid September they return indoors. Which means the weather is guaranteed to be much warmer than anticipated from mid September onwards. 🤣

Though at the Bredon Hill Cup as a judge, Mr Edward Sun stepped in for a demonstration bout with Broom's Micheal McDermott. Though he's by far the senior of the two, he bows. They both bow. We bow.

This is Blockley TaeKwonDo Teenagers class, in the Cotswolds, near Moreton-in-Marsh. It's 6.30 p.m. on a Wednesday. This class has been running since November, 2008, and is now taught by one of the early students, Mrs Rebecca Stanley, one of the many Black Belts that the class has produced. If you are not familiar with TKD, it's a Korean self defence art like Karate. Our Blockley teenagers class is a mixed experience class, and beginners are always welcome - plus it's free to come and try. 15 Years ago, we took a minibus full of fighters to the ITS Scottish TaeKwonDo championships. Staying in a hostel in Edinburgh the night before, one of our competitors rolled over in a top bunk and fell out to the floor. He went on to take a gold medal - as did many of our other students. Great days!
