Meet Jan, she is a true warrior 🤩💜
And she will absolutely hate me doing this appreciation post but she definitely deserves all the recognition for the hard graft she’s put into the gym over the last couple of years.
Like most women her age, she had shied away from the weights room, believing that it was only for the men and that she was “too old” to take up weight training.
However, fast forward 3 years later and even despite a knee injury, she is now lifting weights she never thought capable. Including adding dumbbells to her lunges which she never thought possible given her knee.
Over the last 8 years she has attended a regular Bupa health check. Up until recently there haven’t been any significant changes but during her most recent visit, her doctor asked her what she had been doing differently.
And this was because her muscle mass had increased on her DEXA scan but also her Cholesterol and blood pressure decreased.
Jan has always been active and taken care of her nutrition so she could only put it down to the implement of resistance training.
This is such an important message for all, I think most of us get into exercise initially for the aesthetics but really it’s our health we need to focus on.
I can’t wait to watch Jan continue to smash it in the weights room this year 🤩 move over boys!

Don’t make your life so busy that you forget to live.
We get so swept up in the weekly task list, prioritising work when sometimes all we need to do is stop, take a second and live for the moment.
Remember we work to live.
We don’t live to work.

Do you focus on the process or the outcome?
A lot of the time we get so swept up in the outcome we forget to enjoy the process.
The process to any kind of outcome should be an ENJOYABLE one.
Because if it isn’t, you are less likely to stick to it.
When we learn to focus and enjoy the process. We feel better.
And when you feel better you do better!
The better you feel, the better you perform across all areas of your life…better at work, better partner, better parent, better friendships.
But when we focus solely on the outcome often it can mean the opposite, because we forget to enjoy ourselves along the way.
My client Steph’s win recently was that she was feeling better within herself regardless of what the scales had to say.
She’s been crushing workouts and upping her weights. She’s learnt how to fuel her body correctly. She’s even setting the example for her daughter 😍💪🏻
Steph was completely new to the whole process, but she’s taken it all within her stride & had some fun with it.
And this means she will be more likely to stick to it and achieve her outcome quicker.
Yes we all want the outcome eventually, but you have to put the time and the groundwork in to reap the rewards.
There are no short cuts or quick fixes in this game.
So you may as well learn to love the process so that you can feel better, do better & be better.

MACHINE OF THE WEEK 💜💪🏻
If there is one thing I could bottle up and sell to all of you it would be confidence in abundance ✨
But having the ability to be confident is a skill that is definitely earned and not given.
This certainly rings true for my gorgeous client, Emma who, since working with me from August last year has made some impressive progress in her strength, fitness, health and of course CONFIDENCE 💜
Despite a harrowing personal set back, Emma has continued to look after herself and her health and set the example for all the amazing mums out there.
With her determination and her fantastic positive attitude towards her goals, Emma is capable of anything.
It’s been a pleasure being a part of your journey and I can’t wait to continue watching you grow this year 🥹

Consistency triumphs when it comes to hitting results, PBs and mental health.
You can’t be 💯 perfect all the time but you can do your best most of the time 💜

“Enough is enough. I need to start prioritising me.”
These were the exact words my client Kate said to me before we worked together to accomplish this amazing transformation.
Kate had all the obstacles in her way:
Time
Money
Motivation
Stress
She was stuck on the hamster wheel of life trying to juggle everything but not leaving much time for herself.
Poor diet habits, fitness non existent and constantly tired, lacking energy.
It seemed counterintuitive to be hitting the gym when she was already struggling with energy levels.
But she knew something had to change.
She knew she had to prioritise her health and that she had to start with prioritising time for herself.
The main thing kate struggled with was snacking at home/in the office.
Our first point of call was hitting protein to help her stay fuller for longer.
Being vegan this was harder to achieve but we worked together to build a list of foods that she loved and were high in protein for her to turn to.
Long days at the office also meant Kate really struggled for time for her workouts.
We implemented a training strategy that meant she was in and out of the gym within an hour.
Kate now has:
More energy
Better stress management
Better fitness and strength
Better health overall
She managed all of this whilst running her own business.
She made it work because she knew she had had enough of the excuses she was letting get in her way.
