Cardigan's University of the Third Age Cardigan u3a is a lively, friendly organisation which offers a wide range of learning, creative & leisure groups for enjoyment. it's a non profit group.

U3A Cardigan is a lively and friendly organisation, part of the worldwide University of the Third Age which offers wide range of learning, creative and leisure groups for the retired and semi-retired. Anyone who is no longer in full-time employment is eligible to join. It's a good way to meet people and make new friends. U3A is NOT an academic institution which awards degrees. No formal qualificat

ions are required to join, only an interest in the subject. Our varied interest groups ranging from Environmental Studies to Walking meet regularly at venues in the Cardigan area. Additionally, once a month we have a general meeting open to all members at which we usually have a guest speaker. You are welcome to come along to one of these meetings, without ANY obligation, on the 4th Thursday of the month at the Catholic Church Hall, North Road, Cardigan SA43 2LT at 2pm

Our next monthly meeting is this Thursday 28th at 2.00pm in the Guildhall Cardigan. We have as our guest speaker Heddwen from Llanerchaeron house talking about their antiques and collectables. If you are interested in our u3a come along and meet us and stay for a cuppa afterwards.

Cardigan u3a's Ukulele group Teifi Ukulele appeared at the Ukenders festival at Dews Lake Pembrokeshire this weekend. A good time was had by all with workshops and concerts with bands from all over Pembrokeshire and surrounding area. Well done to them all.

We are holding our annual Open Day for prospective new members on Thursday 26th June in the Guildhall Cardigan, starting at 2.00pm. Any retired or semi retired are welcome to come along and see what our members enjoy doing. We have many groups learning about Art, Astronomy, book groups, Crafts, Croquet, Creative writing, Castle visiting, Desert Island disc, Members on their own, Digital photography, Tech and laptop computer,
3 x walking groups, Singers, Ukulele playing, Welsh conversation. Plus monthly meetings with interesting guest speakers. Refreshments will be served during and a chance to talk to the committee and group leaders. Do come along and see what we do...

A reminder that our monthly meeting on Thursday 26th September has as guest speaker Jane Davidson a former AM in the Welsh Assembly. She is particularly interested in sustainability and I'm sure she will talk about that and her time in the WA. She is also Pro vice chancellor of Wales Trinity St David's University. Come along and listen to what I'm sure will be an interesting talk. It will start at 2.00pm in the Guildhall Cardigan...
