🎨✨ MEET THE ARTIST: DUTCH BIHARY! ✨🎨

We are SO excited to be welcoming Dutch Bihary to Facade Academy this September! 🌟

But before he joins us in the classroom, we thought you should get to know the man behind the paintbrush... 👀

Born and raised in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, Dutch has been creating art for as long as he can remember. His journey has taken him through an incredible mix of artistic worlds, from tattooing and comic book illustration to face & body painting, special effects makeup, prosthetics, film and television effects, huge murals and even large-scale prop sculpting!

And you might recognise him from Skin Wars, where he competed in the very first season, before returning as a celebrity mentor on Fresh Paint. 🎨🔥

But perhaps what we love most about Dutch is his passion for teaching.

His dream of becoming an art teacher began when he was young, and today he travels internationally sharing his knowledge with artists, creators and curious minds. He's taught at beauty colleges, art academies and special effects schools around the world, including Stan Winston Studios, New Image Academy and MBS Academies in Korea.

From tattoos to TV, prosthetics to paint, Dutch has collected a seriously impressive toolbox of creative knowledge... and we're thrilled he's bringing some of it to Facade Academy! 🤩

So, get ready for September because we're about to add a whole new flavour of creativity to the Academy!

A huge thank you to Karen Huwen for an absolutely fabulous contribution to this month’s Masquerade Unit at Facade Academy! 🎭✨

Last night brought Karen’s lessons to a close, and if you didn’t make it along, you really did miss out on some wonderful teaching!

Karen not only showed us how to create these beautiful masquerade masks, but shared so many tips, tricks and techniques along the way that you can take into so many other designs. There were plenty of little gems tucked into these lessons! 💜
