Cambridge Camerata Academy gives young musicians a distinctly world-class Cambridge musical education with chamber music at its heart.
The Academy is for teen-aged (minimum grade 8) and conservatoire-level pianists, violinists, violists and cellists. We also accept younger students below this level if they demonstrate potential. The main goal of the Academy is to develop the musicality of its students. Under the guidance of acclaimed international performers and music professionals, Academy students play in coached chamber music
At the Cambridge Camerata Academy students don’t only play chamber music, they also have the opportunity to have their compositions workshopped and performed by professionals. This is a great way of developing musicality while figuring out what works in a real life scenario.
At the Cambridge Camerata Academy we focus on chamber music as it helps our students learn to play together but also gives them space to shine individually.

Cambridge Camerata Academy provides young players with specialist teaching from professional musicians. The Academy programme runs on Sundays at King’s College School where over 5 sessions per term students play in chamber ensembles and orchestra, working toward an end-of-term recital.

A few weeks ago Clare, one of our etude students played some of her favourite pieces at the Parish Church of St. Clement in Cambridge. It was a lovely performance and the audience was visibly mesmerised by her skills.
In music camerata is an Italian word meaning room or chamber and it refers to a small intimate musical ensemble like a chamber orchestra or choir. We, here at the Cambridge Camerata Academy bring together wonderful musicians, to learn and play together.
