A Level Maths Tutor

I am now taking bookings for Y12 and Y13 A Level Maths Groups. Small groups, no more than 10 and usually smaller - this is a class not a webinar! All lessons recorded with notes and homework provided.
I am a fully qualified maths teacher with over 15 years experience. I studied maths at Oxford, then worked in industry and government for 15 years before taking a break to start a family. I then retrained as a secondary maths teacher (PGCE distinction from University of Nottingham) before working in both state and independent schools including the oldest independent girls school in the UK. I am now a full time tutor specialising in A Level Maths and Further Maths and University entrance exams. I am also an examiner for multiple UK exam boards.

I shall be running group lessons for A Level Maths from September to July. The lessons will be Saturday morning at 9.30 - 10.30 am  I will tailor lessons to the group and each will have notes and homework provided.  Lessons would be £30 an hour with groups of 8 lessons payable in advance.

TMUA is now becoming a widely used test with Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick, LSE, UCA and Durham just some of the universities that are using it.
TMUA uses just A Level maths, but requires a very different approach. The timing is much more difficult, there are no calculators allowed and the questions are much more concept based rather than process driven.

Lessons available from the end of June onwards, after you have finished your Y12 End of Year exams. These can continue over the summer break and can fit around other commitments. How many are needed will vary by the individual and can include support for A Level Maths and F Maths. £80 an hour

TMUA is now becoming a widely used test with Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, Warwick, LSE, UCA and Durham just some of the universities that are using it.
TMUA uses just A Level maths, but requires a very different approach. The timing is much more difficult, there are no calculators allowed and the questions are much more concept based rather than process driven.

𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙡𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙨?

Not only will you need to take TMUA in October, but you will also be required to take STEP alongside your A Levels.
STEP papers are usually part of any offer for a maths degree from Cambridge and can be part of an offer from others such as Warwick, Durham etc.

What you might not know is that around 60% of those that receive an offer for maths from Cambridge, will fail to meet the STEP requirements. It is a very tough test!

This class is designed to give those considering applying to Cambridge for a maths degree a taster of what STEP is like, so they can decide if they think that it is something they can achieve.

Group Lessons: 6 weeks course - 6 lessons:
Monday and Wednesday:
11.10-12.10am 27th July to 12th August
£210 per person for the 6 week course
