Our Intermediate and Senior Boys' cross-country teams competed in the ESAA XC Cup at Frenchfields, Penrith this afternoon.

Superb run from all the lads, including Noah Cook who won the Intermediate Boys race. We are still awaiting confirmation of the Senior Boys final standings and hope that both teams qualify for the North Western round being held at Sedbergh in a few weeks.

Well done to our U19 netball team who competed at the South Lakes county qualifiers today. They played brilliantly as a team and we are very proud of them. Thank you to Sedbergh for hosting, and to both their team and KSGS who have gone through to the next round - we wish them both the very best of luck.

Also, a massive thank you to 17Sport (Barrow) and Friends of UVHS Music for sponsoring our fabulous new senior kit this season!

Message to all parents:

Please check your emails (the primary one supplied to us) for a message about MCAS (My Child At School). This is the parent app linked to our new school management system set up to replace Edulink and, early next year, ParentPay.

The app provides quicker routes of communication between school and home as well as up-to-date information about your child. With the winter months approaching, it will also be the platform we use to inform parents about any emergency school closures.

We strongly advise all parents to download the app as soon as possible – links to the Apple App Store and Google Play are on the email or via the website. The school id code is 17123,

Huge congratulations to our very own Mrs Egglestone (as well as our close friend and renowned Henrock executive chef, Mark McCabe) on their nominations in the category of Mental Health Champion in the Burnt Chef Project awards 2026!

We couldn’t be prouder and wish them all the very best of luck going forward to the final decision 🖤

Well done to our new Year 7 Girls' Football Team, who played their first game and started their County Cup campaign all at the same time this afternoon.

They played in the first round against Kendal's Queen Katherine School and, even though it was their first time playing together, they demonstrated some excellent skills, teamwork and resilience.

As a result they have progressed to the next round and we cannot wait to see how they develop as a team!

Well done team UVHS and thank you QKS for travelling to us and giving us such a great first game.

Congratulations to our U16 netball team - they played on Tuesday night in the county qualifiers and won both their matches 10-0 and 7-3. This that they have once again made it through to the County Finals at Sedbergh next month.

This evening, our year 7 boys rounded off the regional series of rugby festivals that have been taking place over the last couple of weeks. Despite it being their first competitive fixture together as a group, they demonstrated an excellent team ethic along with consistently strong performances and completed the festival unbeaten against some very strong teams from our neighbouring schools.

Thank you to St Bernard's for hosting this evening and Dowdales for organising referees.

All our year group teams now progress to the semi finals of the Furness Schools cup - well done to all the boys in y7-11, a fantastic achievement!!!!
