She ran her own successful wedding floristry business for several years before concentrating on teaching. She is a specialist in historical floral design and has also taught on the National Certificate Levels 2, 3 and 4- The Higher Diploma in Floristry ...
Her vision is simple- make floral design accessible to everybody whatever their skills, background or motivation. The Sussex Flower School was set up in 2010 to provide an alternative method of learning that could be more personal and targeted than many college programmes. Students can pick and choose courses to suit their needs and add to their skills as they progress. They can also train to be a professional florist. It is a very relaxed and flexible environment concentrating on high quality, caring tuition in small groups or individually. The maximum number of students per class is normally six, however, we can cater for larger, bespoke groups if required. The school has no minimum number policy, so courses go ahead even if they aren't full. The light and airy school is set in the rural Sussex village of Blackboys. Georgia has a dedicated Cutting Garden at her home and at the school- where many of the flowers are grown for the courses. There is a selection of floristry sundries available to purchase to get you started, all sold in small quantities to suit the home or church flower arranger. Georgia is passionate about flowers and plants and empowering people to be their best and happiest selves...she wanted to create a space where people could learn in a relaxed environment as much or as little as they want. Her aim is for everybody to leave having achieved what they came for. There is a huge community of florists centred around the school and you can join The Sussex Flower School Forum ( FB group) too...
