Prosveta UK

Prosveta UK Prosveta UK's aim is to distribute the teaching of the spiritual Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov. w The books are mainly divided into two collections.

During the early years of Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov's teaching the lectures he gave were taken down in shorthand. As the years went by the talks he gave during this period were recorded live on audio tape and cassettes. Then, in the latter years of his life, the lectures he gave were recorded on film. From his many talks, there are now more than fifty books published that have been translated from F

rench into English. The first is 'The Complete Works 'series, with 19 titles published so far. The contents of these large white paperback books are largely from the earlier talks that he gave. The other series of books comes in a rainbow coloured pocket book format, and is called the 'Izvor Collection'. This offers 42 titles to date and is more subject based. The 'Izvor' books are subject based. They are mostly talks that he gave later in his life but they include work from his earlier lectures too, depending on the subject matter. Some of the lectures that he gave on video cassettes are now available to buy in the form of DVD's. They are given in French with English subtitles as well as other languages. There are also a few lectures that he gave in English which are now available to buy on CD's.

How to lead a balanced life

Spirit and matter… This is an endless question, since spirit and matter appear in many different forms: as masculine and feminine, positive and negative, emissive and receptive, heaven and earth. Nothing is more important than these two principles – the masculine and the feminine. But we have to understand their respective places and roles so as not to favour one over the other. Humans always tend to go to extremes: either they focus only on the spirit and neglect matter, or they focus on matter and leave out the spirit. This is what is happening today, when so many people are in the grip of matter without ever seeking to bring the spirit into it. And so, matter remains inert, lifeless, and eventually it engulfs them. We must work with the forces of heaven, but without losing sight of the balance that needs to be maintained between heaven and earth. For our life is here on earth, and we must not leave it prematurely. Those who destroy this balance in order to reach heaven sooner may live in abundance and light, but they are not fulfilling their mission, which is to work on earth using the means of heaven.

The mission of the spirit is to descend, to put on a physical body in order to work on earth and transform it into a magnificent garden, a veritable paradise, for God to stroll in. If we were supposed to reject matter, what would be the point of our being here? Why immerse ourselves in matter if not to sublimate it, to make it as luminous and transparent as the spirit?

A new era is opening before us, an era in which human beings have a gigantic amount of work to do in order to adapt to the new currents from heaven. Today it is the earth that is important; our task is to sublimate the earth, the physical body, matter, by bringing down the spirit into it, for only the spirit can animate and illuminate matter. We must project the spirit on to matter so that matter becomes spiritual through the quality of our thinking, feeling and acting! If we learn to work with opposing forces without letting ourselves go to extremes, we can become very great creators.

Moral laws, the great laws of Nature, are there to guide us...

The day we understand that everything hangs together, that everything is connected and that, in the moral dimension, there are certain unchanging, inexorable laws that we must know, we will begin to evolve. We may ignore these laws because they are not written down anywhere and we may think that we have the right to behave as we please, but we will never make any real progress until we realize that these laws exist, that they are the foundation of human life.

Divine law is inscribed within all human beings. Those who have begun an inner work of purification and succeed in dissipating the darkness of their psychic lives are able to read this law every day in their hearts. The keys, norms and criteria that we need in life, comes from studying the laws of intelligent Nature, for the Intelligence of Nature can never lie or mislead us; its laws bring harmony and peace.

Human beings have made laws of their own, but they have nothing in common with the laws of nature. In the first place, they are much too changeable and based on culture and conventions. True morality is eternal and one of its laws can be seen very clearly in agriculture. It is this, ‘You reap whatever you sow.’ This is a law that has been in vigour since the creation of the world.

If we truly understand the law of cause and effect, we will become steadfast and unshakeable, capable of holding our own against all the philosophies of chaos and disorder that prevail throughout the world.

We must learn to enjoy meditation

Meditation must become a need in us, in our minds, hearts and wills. It must become a pleasure without which life is insipid and meaningless. We should look forward impatiently to those moments when we can, at last, immerse ourselves in Eternity and drink the Elixir of Immortal Life. When the time comes for our meditation, our reaction should be: ‘At last! My soul, my spirit, my heart are free to embrace the whole universe for a few moments. Free to come face to face with Immensity!

God has given every single one of us the possibility of finding the spiritual food best suited to us. This food is available in abundance throughout the universe, we only need to know what region we must go to, to find what we are looking for. The spiritual world is organized in such a way that the mere fact of thinking about a particular person, element or region has the effect of putting one in direct contact with the objects of one’s thought, wherever they may be. It is this we need to use consciously in our meditation: to know what spiritual food we need and where to get it.

Meditation enables us to undertake the serious spiritual work of replacing all our old, tarnished, worn-out particles with pure, heavenly, bright, new particles. We only have to think about these bright new particles and imagine them in all their subtle, shining purity and they will be drawn to us and automatically push out the others and take their place. Of course, this will not happen all at once; it depends on the intensity of our love and faith and on how hard we work, but one day, all the particles within us that were out of harmony with the heavenly regions will be replaced, and we will be capable of perceiving and grasping the subtlest and most sublime realities of the universe.

The Teaching brings a new light to the world and a new understanding of the word 'work'

Character is the behaviour of conscious human beings who know what they are doing and where they are going in life. It is, as it were, a synthesis of all the particular characteristics of our temperament which have been conquered, brought under our control and directed towards a goal. Our spiritual work must be based on an understanding of this question of temperament and character so that, even if we are not pre-disposed by our temperament, we can still forge a character of exceptional goodness, magnanimity and generosity. It is not an easy task but at least we must work towards it – transformation of character is only possible by an uninterrupted round of daily work. Yes, we are on earth as though in a field that has to be tilled and planted. Whatever we do, even if it is only walking in the woods or having a nap, we must always avoid every trace of stagnation; we must introduce a state of orderly, harmonious activity into ourselves, that is, we must work to synchronize all the currents and energies in and around us and make them converge towards the Source of life, towards the light. This is the one and only work required of a spiritual student. A new light is dawning today in the world which will give new meaning to everything we do, and that new light is a new understanding of the word ‘work’.

A video extracted from the book The Zodiac, Key to Man and the Universe by Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov.. It discusses the symbolic meaning of the zodiac in astrology and learn how how it represents boundaries, influences our psychic life and helps our spiritual development
According to the esoteric teachings of Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov, the Zodiac is seen as a Spiritual Map: The Zodiac signs aren't just astrological forecasts; they are seen as spiritual "keys" or "stations" on a path of self-perfection. Each sign represents specific virtues, vices, and lessons that a person must master.
The human being (the microcosm) is a reflection of the universe (the macrocosm) and so by understanding the self, one can understand the universe, and vice-versa.
