This week, year 7 Design and Technology students at UC put their engineering expertise to the test as they raced their rocket powered cars.
The STEM project, sponsored by VEGA Controls Ltd drew upon knowledge of aerodynamics, CAD/CAM and Newton’s laws of motion.
It really went off with a bang!

We are delighted with another successful year in the Senior Maths Challenge.
To recognize the highest performers in the Challenge, UK Maths Trust award the top-scoring 66% of participants Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates in the ratio 3:2:1. Students that are 'Best in Year' or 'Best in School' also receive a badge to denote this on their certificates. We had a total of 21 awards in the Senior Maths Challenge: 4 gold, 14 silver and 3 bronze.
Huge and massive congratulations to Elijah Osborne, George Walmsley, Gracie King, Hamish Paisley, Hannah Chevassut, Jack Jervis, Jack Wood, Katie Pain, Louis Wood, Mabel Kroger, Nathan Hill, Nona Allenby, Oliver Christian, Oliver Miles, Oscar Painter, Raul Hurnall, Roman Day, Rumi Ullah, Sam Barrett, Sara Larkin, Sonny Holford.

In addition, UK Maths Trust invited around 1,000 of the very highest performers to take part in the British Mathematical Olympiad (Round 1) and around 6,000 to take part in the Senior Kangaroo. Congratulations to Oliver Chritian and Louis Wood (Maths Olympiad) and Roman Day (Senior Kangaroo).
