New boom in UK higher education field
Reintroduction of post study work (PSW) from July 2021 by the UK government is going to change the face of the current UK university education field. A big flow of international students is going to be in the UK soon. It was the most awaited news for international students who would like to study in the UK and to work after studies.
The Graduate route
The new scheme is called the “Graduate route”. Through this scheme students who completed their undergraduate or postgraduate studies can stay in the UK for two more years and for those who completed PhD can stay upto three years.
Let's check the highlights of graduate route
Graduate route is mainly for those who would like to stay in the UK to search for new jobs in their field of study.
If you completed your undergraduate or postgraduate study , you can stay here upto two years. For those who finished PhD, they can stay upto three years in search of a job.
New schewe will be running from 1 July 2021. For those who completed after this date can be applied for the graduate route. It can be applicable for those who already stated their studies.
Students need to apply for a new visa from inside the UK to receive PSW
Students can use the recent CAS letter that was used for their Tier 4 visa and to apply for the graduate route. There will be a visa fee of £700 and health surcharge will be £624 per year.
Your university does not need to sponsor your visa. They just need to notify that students have completed their studies to Home office on request.
During this PSW period, if a student is offered a tier 2 visa from any company, they can switch their visa. Five years in Tier 2 visa will allow students to receive Permanent residency (PR) in the UK.
