We wanted to share the news that our amazing Site Supervisor, Mr Goodrick, will be retiring and leaving us at the beginning of October. 💙

Mr Goodrick has been such a valued and much-loved member of our school community. His hard work, kindness, dedication and friendly smile have made such a difference to our school, and he will be greatly missed by staff, children and families alike.

We are incredibly grateful for everything he has done for our school over the years and wish him a very happy and well-deserved retirement.

We wish Mr Goodrick the very best for this exciting new chapter- he will certainly be missed! 🌟

Welcome back, St Paul’s families!

We are so excited to welcome all of our wonderful children and families back to school tomorrow morning! We hope you’ve had a lovely summer and are looking forward to the new school year as much as we are.

Please make sure your children arrive at school in plenty of time to be ready for the school day to begin at 8:50am.

Each morning, a member of our Senior Leadership Team will be at the KS1 and KS2 gates to welcome you all. They will also be there to collect mobile phones from children before they enter the school yard and to answer any questions or queries you may have.

A little reminder that children should:
👔 Wear the correct school uniform.
🚫 Not wear earrings of any kind, including transparent plastic retainers, in line with our school policies and health and safety requirements.

Most importantly, we can’t wait to see all those smiling faces again tomorrow! 🥰

Celebrating 100 Years of Ryhope Community Centre!

We have been celebrating our local history here in Ryhope as our wonderful community centre reaches its 100th anniversary!

The children have been busy creating lots of wonderful things for display, from miners’ lamps to learning about the history of our local community. They even created a beautiful song to celebrate this very special occasion.

We are so proud to be part of such a special piece of Ryhope’s history.

We hope that all of our pupils and families have had a wonderful, relaxing summer and have enjoyed making lots of happy memories together!
We are so excited to welcome everyone back to St Paul's CE Primary School and begin another fantastic school year together.

School will open on WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER at 8:50AM, and we can’t wait to see all of our lovely pupils back through the school gates, ready for a new year of learning, friendship and fun!

A very special welcome to all of our new pupils and families joining us this year. We are delighted to have you as part of our school community and look forward to getting to know you.

✨What another fantastic week we’ve had at St Paul’s! ✨

Our Reception children amazed us with their wonderful worship (complete with a surprise rave!), pupils proudly received their school reports and we celebrated our incredible Year 6s following their fantastic SATs results.

Today, our Year 6 families joined us for a truly special leavers’ performance. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, and our Hollywood-themed awards ceremony was a fitting celebration of an amazing group of pupils as they prepare for their next chapter. Thank you to our wonderful Friends of St Paul’s group for providing the fabulous balloons – they helped make the celebration even more memorable.

A huge well done also goes to every child across school for their hard work, effort and achievements this year. We are incredibly proud of you all.

With just three days to go, we’re looking forward to making even more special memories together.

❤️What a busy and wonderful week at St Paul’s! ❤️

From our Early Years farm trip and Year 5 visit to Venerable Bede, to performing at the Sunderland Schools Dance Festival at The Empire and attending Sunderland Sings - what amazing opportunities for our children! We also enjoyed a fantastic Summer Fayre, with huge thanks to our wonderful Friends of St Paul’s PTA group for making it such a success.

Today was especially meaningful as we officially opened our beautiful new Sensory Garden in memory of our beloved TA, Sarah Hart. ‘The Hart of St Paul’s’ will be a treasured place in our school forever. ❤️

Finally, we say a very fond farewell to Mr Harper on his last day. Thank you for everything you have brought to St Paul’s - we wish you every happiness and success on your next adventure!

❤️What another fabulous week we’ve had at St Paul’s! ❤️

From thoughtful Prayer Spaces with Youth for Christ and important water safety sessions, to enjoying the sunshine, watching The Tempest performed by some of our talented ex-pupils at Venerable Bede Academy and working hard to get our exciting new sensory garden ready - there have been so many lovely moments to celebrate!

Alongside all of this, our children have continued to work incredibly hard in their classrooms and we are, as always, so proud of all their achievements.

A reminder that photographs of our wonderful certificate winners, will be shared directly with parents through Class Dojo by your child’s class teacher.

☀️What a fantastic week we’ve had at St Paul’s!☀️

The week began with our wonderful Silver Jubilee celebrations, creating memories that will last for years to come. Since then, we’ve enjoyed brilliant trips, Sports Days, worked incredibly hard in our classrooms and, as always, celebrated the many achievements of our amazing children. We are so proud of every one of them and all they continue to accomplish.

A quick note for parents: following updated guidance, we will now be sharing the majority of our school photographs through Class Dojo rather than on Facebook. This means you’ll still be able to enjoy all the wonderful moments from your child’s class, while we reduce the number of images shared on our public page. Certificate photographs will continue to be shared directly by your child’s class teacher on Dojo.

✨🎉What a fantastic day celebrating St Paul’s Silver Jubilee! 🎉✨

We enjoyed a special worship looking back on 25 years of memories, took a turn in DISCO 2001, enjoyed a picnic, party hats, lots of dancing, a beautiful party lunch from our lovely lunch staff and even wrote letters to our future selves for our St Paul’s Time Capsule, which won’t be opened for another 25 years!
