There's something I wanted to share with you all.
As many of you know, The Luna Night Market has always been about more than just shopping. It’s a space for different subcultures , creative traders, performers, and independent spirits to come together — to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
But lately, organising these events has become increasingly difficult.
Venue hire costs have shot up — with some spaces asking for rates in their thousands that simply don’t make sense for a community-led market like ours.
I understand venues also have costs but when the prices go up following an event it makes me question things. I also know what value an event like this can bring to a venue.
As a result, it’s becoming harder and harder to bring these magical nights to life.
I’m doing everything I can behind the scenes — talking to venues, looking at new locations, and trying to protect what makes Luna special without passing the cost onto customers or traders. But it’s tough.
As you know I don't have any events booked in yet, it is a moment of pause, and reflection. I just wanted to keep you in the loop. If you’re a venue that believes in what we do — reach out. We are north east based but want to take these events all over the UK. If you’re part of our community and want to support, share this post or tag a space you think could be a good fit.
