I’m not the groomer who can always fit you in “today or tomorrow”… and honestly, I’m proud of that. ❤️🐾

For years, I overbooked myself. I said yes to everyone who needed me because I genuinely wanted to help. But eventually, I realized that constantly trying to squeeze in “just one more dog” was taking pieces of me that I couldn’t keep giving away.

The dogs were rushed.
My mind was exhausted.
My body was tired.
My personal life was pushed aside.
And my health suffered.

Grooming is a physically and emotionally demanding career, and burnout is incredibly real. Sometimes we convince ourselves that working more means we’re a better groomer or that saying “no” means we aren’t doing enough.

It doesn’t.

I’ve had to learn that 7–8 hours of intentional, focused work is enough. I don’t have to work myself into the ground to be a good groomer. I don’t have to sacrifice my family, my own appointments, my health, or my sanity to prove how much I care.

And you know what happened when I started setting those boundaries?

My clients stayed. ❤️

They rebook. They book ahead. They understand that my schedule fills because I have wonderful clients who value what I do and because I intentionally schedule my business around my life instead of trying to make my entire life revolve around my business.

That balance is important.

Because when a groomer takes care of themselves, they can take better care of your dog.

Your dog deserves a groomer who isn’t exhausted, overwhelmed, rushing through appointments, or running on empty. They deserve someone who has the time, patience, focus, and energy to give them the care they need.

So please understand that when I can’t fit your dog in today or tomorrow, it isn’t because I don’t care.

It’s because I’m protecting the quality of care I provide.

I may not always be the fastest appointment to get, but I promise you I’m worth the wait. 🐶❤️

And when I can fit you in, I absolutely will.

To my fellow groomers: setting boundaries isn’t selfish. It’s how we build careers we can actually sustain.

And to my clients: thank you for understanding, respecting my schedule, and trusting me with your dogs. You are the reason I’m able to do what I love while still taking care of the person behind the grooming table. ❤️🐾

A tiny bronze dog figurine from the Acropolis, dating to around the mid-7th century BC — approximately 2,650 years old!

Even all those centuries ago, someone took enough notice of a dog to capture its coat, ears and even its little collar in bronze.

Dogs really have been part of our lives for an incredibly long time. ❤️

Obviously I was always going to find the dog in a museum full of ancient treasures! 😂

A huge congratulations to our latest group of students who yesterday successfully completed their training and achieved their DGA Level 3 Diploma in Professional Dog Grooming – CPD Accredited! 🥂👏

After an intensive programme of theory and practical training, these ladies can now proudly call themselves qualified professional dog groomers. ✂️🐶

It has been fantastic to see the confidence, skills and professional standards develop throughout the course — and yesterday was the moment all that hard work paid off.
