Twyford Karate A friendly, traditional Shotokan Karate club in Twyford, Leicestershire (nr Melton Mowbray). A range of classes available, all ages and abilities welcome.

⚠️ Important news! ⚠️

Due to the extremely high temperatures forecast for this week I am making the decision to cancel all classes!

This has not been an easy decision especially with the grading planned for Sunday! However the health and safety of the students and instructors needs to take priority and I hope you agree and can understand my decision.

With regards to the grading on Sunday, the temperature looks like it will have dropped considerably by then so we should be fine to go ahead! Times may change slightly as I intend to add on some practice time before each session but I will let you know the adjustments on these by the end of the week.

Well done to everyone for great focus and behaviour on this evenings busy class!

George mentioned it's his 6th birthday tomorrow so I joked he had to fight the whole class at the end.....he called me out and replied ' yeah, easy'!😀🤣
So an extra well done to George for 'fighting the whole class' (with a little help from Jacob) and a very Happy 6th Birthday tomorrow! 🎂🥳🎉👊

Our first special Sunday class happened this morning with those attending putting in lots of hard work, focus and balancing skills! Well done!

I chose to work on the kata Gankaku as this is a great kata to work on your centre line, posture, core and balance which will transfer into improving your overall karate training. So even if you can't remember the whole kata you should have been able to take something away from today's class!

As usual I forgot to take pics but luckily Billy's Mum snapped these few at the end, thanks Clare Griggs 😀

Well done to these 6 who couldn't make the big event last week!
A big congratulations on passing your gradings guys, you all smashed it!

A special mention for my big sis Jayne Ward who hasn't graded in at least 20 years and with much encouragement to grade at all today had a really strong grading!

Well done!

That's a wrap for the year on our Sunday classes but Tuesday and Wednesday class on as normal this week but will be Christmas classes so dress accordingly! 🎄🎅

Every new grade is a step towards greater understanding and growing as a karateka and a person!
