Here in Speldhurst, we’re lucky enough to not just have one top fish restaurateur but two…but is this village big enough for the both of them?!

Join us at the G&D for ‘Fish Fight’ night on the 29th September and we can settle the argument of who is King of all things fishy - Anthony Pender or Matthew Sankey! 👑

Mini Marathon Update 🏃🏃🏼‍♀️

Enormous thank you for supporting this year’s Mini Marathon.

Whether you ran it, marshalled, sponsored, cheered us on, set-up, cleared-down, photographed, designed or printed for it. The village came alive for the morning and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Together we have raised an incredible £8,730 for our school.

FAMILY FUN DAY 2026! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our 2026 Family Fun Day…and what a fun day it was!

Over 100 of our school families came along to celebrate our wonderful school community - this day really highlights just how lucky we all are to be a part of it. And speaking of luck, we can’t believe the sun shone all day for us yet again!!

1 day to go until the mini marathon, and we want to give a heartfelt thank you to two amazing parents whose talents have truly elevated this year’s Mini Marathon. 👏🏼 🙌🏻

First, Pietro Pagani, who has poured his creativity into everything you’ll see—from the beautifully designed logos and banners at the start and finish, to the photo backdrop we’ll use for years to come. He's worked hard to create a mini-marathon design theme and a specific raise the roof theme for this year. His eye for design has given our event a polished, vibrant identity. 👏🏼

Secondly, Andy Healy, whose printing expertise brought all of these designs to life in the start banners and the photo backdrop. Thank you to all those at Green Hippo Print who produced the materials. 🙌🏻

Both have children at our school and have given their time, skill, and energy to support the event and the school community. We are incredibly grateful! 🙏🏼

This Friday is the much anticipated Mini Marathon. 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍♂️

As they do every year, the children will take to the streets of Speldhurst, vying for coveted rosettes, as they race around the course.🏅

If you want to cheer them on, prime positions will be along Ferbies, Southfields, the grounds of St Mary’s (for KS1 & KS2) and the rec (KS2 only).

The marathon starts at 9:15am so pop over to The George and Dragon or Dragonfly Cafe, for your take away teas, coffees, pastries and bacon sarnies after drop off! ☕️ 🥐

The children will have finished the course by around 10.30am. 🏁
