⏱️ What do you do when you have too much information and not enough time on stage?
Most people speak faster.
That's usually the wrong answer.
When you rush, your audience remembers less, not more.
Instead:
🎯 Decide on the one thing you want people to remember.
✂️ Cut anything that doesn't support it.
🧠 Limit yourself to a few key points.
A great speech isn't about saying everything you know.
It's about making sure people remember what matters.
That's one of the skills we practise at Tunbridge Wells Speakers Club.

Ever stayed quiet in a meeting... and then watched someone else say exactly what you were thinking?
Yeah. That one hurts.
It's not that you don't have ideas.
It's that, in the moment, you .. ... and .
And the part?
The more you stay quiet, the easier it becomes to keep doing it.
That's exactly why we're running an evening at our club, Tunbridge Wells Speakers this May.
It's not a lecture.
It's not one of those stiff networking things either.
It's a relaxed space where you can:
* see how speakers actually build that
* get involved (only if you want to)
* realise you're not the only one who feels like this
No pressure.
No forced speaking.
No judgement.
Just a chance to try .

Did you know the fear of has a name?
It’s called .
But let’s be honest — it’s not really the .
If it were, we’d all be silent.
What people actually fear is other people's .
What if I mess up?
What if I sound stupid?
What if people think I’m awkward?
That’s the real fear.
At , we help turn that fear into confidence — one speech, one meeting, one brave moment at a time.

🎤 From to the stage
We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our members, Monica Elena, who stepped onto the stage this week and delivered her talk with , and .
Moments like this remind us why exists.
Becoming a doesn’t happen overnight.
It happens speech after speech, meeting after meeting, little by little — exactly what we practise together in our club.
Seeing one of our own go from feeling shy about speaking to standing on a stage is a powerful reminder of what is possible when you keep showing up and keep speaking.
Congratulations, Monica!
We are proud to have been part of your speaking journey.
And if you’re curious how someone can go from wanting to hide under the table when asked to speak… to standing on a stage, why not come and visit us?

‼️AI can write a speech faster than you.‼️
So, information isn’t the problem anymore.
But is.
When you speak live, people don’t stay because of better words.
They stay because of , and .
That’s what we practise at .
Not sounding clever but sounding clear.
AI can generate .
Only you can create .

🤝We showed up.
And we're proud we did.
Last Saturday, the Division H(appy) Contest took place and while Tunbridge Wells Speakers Club didn't have contestants in this round, that doesn't mean we weren't there in full force.
We supported the contest with:
*a Chief Judge
* Judges, Ballot Counters, a Sergeant at Arms all from our club
An amazing show of , , and behind the scenes
That's what is all about. It's not just about the spotlight it's about building a culture where .
We also had the pleasure of attending a workshop with Menon, our District Program Quality Director titled "Using Toastmasters skills when it matters the most".
The theme? Managing conflict using the method (Describe, Express, Specify, Consequences)
Rather than just theory, it was interactive, practical, and eye-opening. The kind of session that makes you look at a little differently and respond with , not chaos.
So no, we didn't walk away with trophies.
But we walked away better equipped, more united, and even more committed to what helps us build, on stage and in real life.
It was a workshop that made us realise that we don't just grow as speakers, we grow as humans too.

💬 Think you can give ?
Or maybe… you want to but you're not sure where to start.
At Tunbridge Wells Speakers Club, isn’t just something we give at the end.
It’s a we practise on . With structure. With . With the of helping others .
Because let’s be honest:
❌ Saying “Great job!” isn’t real feedback.
✅ Telling someone worked, it worked, and to try next time? That’s where happens.
Every meeting is a feedback lab. You learn to speak up, listen in, and guide with impact, whether you're helping a teammate, a friend, or a future keynote speaker.
