Little Cottage Nursery School

Wishing a happy start to reception for all our school leavers and a final farewell to all our wonderful children from me! 👋 This last Little Cottage post is to remember how we enjoyed the happiest of times with picnics and parties at the end of term - I will miss you all and hope I will see many of you around! 😊

Today is a day filled with so many emotions, and I not only want to take a moment to say goodbye, but most importantly, to say thank you. After 14 years of running Little Cottage, the time has come to close this chapter. This decision was not made lightly, for it’s been an incredibly journey, filled with laughter, learning, challenges, and countless special moments.
To my staff - past and present - you are the heart of this nursery. Your kindness, dedication, and patience have created a warm, safe, and happy environment every single day. I couldn’t have done any of this without you. I’ve been so blessed to have had teams of staff who either already were, or soon became, my friends, and this has been the essence of Little Cottage throughout.
To all the wonderful families who have trusted us with your little ones - we thank you. You have allowed us to be a part of your children’s earliest steps into the world of learning and it has been our greatest privilege to nurture, guide, and grow alongside them. Your support is invaluable.
To all of our current, and previous, children - you are our shining stars! You have brought energy, curiosity, and love into every corner of Little Cottage, and watching you grow has been the most rewarding part of this journey.
To my own family, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the constant love and support, and the being there to help with my constant stresses.
To my girls, I apologise for all the times I wasn’t there, and to Rob, for the countless hours he too poured into making Little Cottage the success it was. It has all been worth it, but I very much look forward to enjoying more evenings together.
If I had known in the beginning all the obstacles I would have to face and the hoops I’d have to jump through, I would never have done it, but I did do it, I achieved it, and I fulfilled my dream. However, now it’s time to be a bit kinder to myself and my family.
Although Little Cottage is closing its doors, I know the memories, friendships, and impact we’ve made will live on.
