Brittens Music Kindergarten Classes are Colourstrings classes for 0-6 year olds. From the outset, classes build on the innate musicality that every child is born with through enjoyable songs, rhymes, percussion, dances and movement, and listening to the best in classical and folk music. Through carefully structured and progressive sessions, that are age-specific, children are taken on a fun journey each week where they develop their sense of pulse, rhythm and pitch in a fun and playful way. Starting Colourstrings classes at a very early age gives babies an excellent start by 'tuning in' their ears to music, building their song and rhyme knowledge through fun repetition and giving them a range of musical experiences that helps them feel comfortable, sociable, and looking forward to the next activity. It's also a lovely calm way to bonding with your child and learning some simple songs that will be easy for them to sing once they find their voices. Continuing with classes as your child grows allows them to develop their understanding of various musical concepts, imbeds a sense of pulse and an ability to sing in tune, develops a sense of rhythm and eventually builds an ability to read notation. This is all achieved through the knowledge of a fabulous set of songs written specifically for Colourstrings. These songs are used throughout the journey, concentrating on pulse and musical concepts in the very early years, and using them to unlock the understanding of rhythm and pitch as they get older. Classes are great for:
