Starlings Performing Arts Summer Workshop Bishops down Primary School 10th – 14th August | 10:00am – 4:00pm

Ages 5–16

A fun, energetic week of singing, dancing and acting, working on Paddington, Legally Blonde and chart songs.

We really do have the most fun and best time together, and it’s amazing to see what the children achieve in just a few days.

Ends with a Friday showcase for family and friends.

Full week or individual days available (For the showcase, attend Wednesday–Friday)

We are very proud of our latest Ofsted report which recognised the school's exceptional culture of inclusion, exemplary behaviour, strong attendance, and unwavering commitment to ensuring every child thrives.

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year.

We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

We are incredibly proud to share that we have just submitted applications for TWO grants that could help us continue transforming our school grounds and enriching opportunities for our children.

🌿 Our Climate Action Grant application focuses on:
• Rewilding and biodiversity
• Rainwater harvesting
• Allotment expansion
• Natural carbon reduction through clover planting
• Creating more sustainable outdoor learning spaces

🥕 Our Tesco Stronger Starts application focuses on:
• Growing food from seed to plate
• Whole-school recipe projects
• Cooking and healthy eating experiences
• Helping children build lifelong connections with food, nature and wellbeing

These projects are about so much more than plants and gardens. They are about giving children hands-on experiences, building community, encouraging sustainability, creating healthier habits and helping children feel connected to the world around them.

We have big dreams for our little school and we are so excited to see where this journey leads 🌎💚

We are very pleased that today our Ofsted report card will be sent to parents and carers! 📋✨Ofsted visited our school on 31st March and 1st April 2026.

A huge well done to our amazing Year 6 children for completing their SATs this week! 🌟 We are so proud of your hard work, determination and resilience throughout the week.

A special thank you also goes to our fantastic staff who have supported, encouraged and guided the children every step of the way. 👏

Now it’s time to look ahead to an exciting summer term, including our residential trip and our production of Signed, Signed Away! 🎭☀️

Well done, Year 6 — you’ve earned it!

Year 5 have been building traps this morning. Look who they've caught!

Today, Year 5 have gone on their overnight trip with They will be taking part in shelter building, wild cooking and trap making. Tonight, they will be sleeping in safari style tents under the stars. We hope the children have an amazing time and create some life long memories. We look forward to hearing all about it on Wednesday!

This week, we were delighted to welcome into school for a truly exciting visit. The children in Years 1 and 2 were thrilled to meet a variety of fascinating animals and learn more about different animal groups, including reptiles, amphibians and mammals as part of their science curriculum. Thank you to for this wonderful opportunity.

Today, children in Key Stage 2 are performing two music concerts to parents, friends and pupils. The children had a fabulous time performing this morning and we were blown away by the talent showcased. The children in Year 3 showed off their recorder playing and all the children taking part sang and signed to ‘Count on Me’ by Bruno Mars. The audiences also enjoyed listening to solo and small group performances on the piano, clarinet, guitar, flute and violin. 

It was a joy to be able to have a live music concert on the last term after such a busy week! We look forward to this afternoon's performance.
