📚 A Heartfelt Thank You 📚

We would like to say a huge thank you to Julie Jeffery for her generous book donation to our nursery.

Julie lives in Rusthall and runs her Utility Warehouse business, helping local households simplify their bills and save money through friendly, personal support and can be contacted at [email protected]

We are incredibly touched that Julie wanted to give back to a place that has supported so many local children over the years.

These wonderful books will be enjoyed by our children and will help nurture a lifelong love of reading.

We are hoping to extend our reading opportunities by building a mini library, where children can select books to take home for a week before swapping for another. This will encourage all our children to explore books, spark their imagination, and develop their literacy skills without pulling on purse strings.

Our topic, ‘the natural world’ ended with the story Jack and the Beanstalk. We’ve been watching our beans grow and measuring ourselves.

As the local school, Rusthall St Paul’s had a sports week, we decided to do the same. The children have enjoyed yoga, obstacle courses, football, dance competitions, bean bag throwing and a game of who can throw the teddy the furthest. There’s also been lots of chat about which foods will give us energy and the importance of drinking water to hydrate.

‘The Natural World’

We started the term looking at plants and planted some green beans for the children to take home and grow, the children looked at different insects too.

As it was Earth Day, we looked at a map of the world and where different animals come from. The story Handa’s surprise was very popular so we decided to collect up the fruits from the story to try. During the week we had different fruit smoothies and made a fruit cocktail.

Our Spring term has ended with lots of Easter fun!

We’ve been busy learning Easter songs, used different materials to make festive crafts, explored torches, egg and spoon races, baking and read the story, The Dinosaur that Pooped Easter - a very popular read!

There was lots of excitement today while hunting for Easter eggs, making bunny ears and getting messy with shaving foam. Have a lovely Easter break and we will be back and ready to hear all about it on the 20th April 🐣
