Hello Friends!

It's been a minute......and I haven't used this Facebook account for AGES now, but I was just setting up a new one for a project I'm working on, and so before I delete this page for good, I thought I'd pop join to say hi and let you know what I'm up to these days in case you want to keep in touch!

I still live near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, and I don't bake any more for as a job......(though my kids who are now 11, 11 and 13 do a lot of baking!)

I retrained as a Celebrant in 2022 and my work now involves creating all kinds of ceremonies to mark the beginning of life, the end of life, and any significant moments in between - and I love it!

Most of my work is in the world of funerals and end of life celebrations (which is a lot less sombre and depressing than people imagine!)

For me, it's the greatest privilege to tell people's stories and to plan and deliver ceremonies that honour the whole of their humanity.
I've always loved meeting people, I've always valued the connection and relationship aspects of any job I've done, and as my own understanding of spirituality has shifted, I've become even more certain of the need for rituals and intentional opportunities to help us make sense of this wild ride of being human!

You can find out more about my Celebrant work at www.joyfulcelebrancy.com , or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091414991807 and I'm just in the process of setting up Coffin Club Tunbridge Wells which is an educational space for talking about death and dying. So if you're local and you'd like a friendly place to ask questions and explore the practicalities and options for end of life then please follow that page! https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091414991807

Anyway - I hope all is well in your worlds šŸ™‚ Joy # # #

Every year for the past 8 years I’ve hosted a Macmillan Cake Fest……and thanks to the generous support of our lovely local friends we always raise Ā£100s for a wonderful cause!!

It’s kinda snuck up on me this year…..(just 10 days away!) …..and I’m really hoping some of you will come without much notice!!

I’ll make LOADS of cakes (including Vegan & gluten free options) and I’ll even take requests if you have a favourite cake!

SUNDAY 1st OCTOBER 2-4pm at my house, 13 Ashley gardens TN4.
Stay for a cuppa and a chat, or bring your own container to pick up some cake to take away.
All are welcome!!

The end of an era…..although I closed Bake me Happy a few months ago I hadn’t got round to taking down my sign……or inventorying all the packaging I still have!
So if any local bakers/businesses want to make me an offer for any of this (brand new!) packaging, I’d be delighted! Please scroll for sizes and details….
Do message me if you could use any of this. I haven’t put prices on but I’ll accept any reasonable offer and can deliver locally if you’re not able to collect! Xx

Womens Circles are one of my favourite spaces to inhabit šŸ¤Ž And this is going to be a very special one…..

šŸ¤ŽšŸ¤ŽšŸ¤ŽCACAO CIRCLEšŸ¤ŽšŸ¤ŽšŸ¤Ž

On Sunday 11th December from
3-6pm I’m hosting a Cacao Circle for women with my friend Vicki Hougham, a Creative Arts Psychotherapist.

It’s an opportunity to pause and invest in some self-care and soul-care in the run up to Christmas.

We will enjoy ritual cacao (a supportive, nutritious and heart-opening plant medicine), and there will be an opportunity to connect with yourself and others creatively in body, mind and soul during this gentle and nurturing 3 hour workshop.

For more information or to book your place please message me!

Investment: £40 (reduced cost places available for those who need it)

Location: Rusthall URC Hall, Manor road TN4

Hello!
I have some news to share with you…..
I have decided to close Bake me Happy.
This little business has grown more than I ever expected it to, and I am so grateful to all my lovely customers for being part of that šŸ’œ

The volume of orders I’m getting is now impacting on my ability to do my favourite ā€˜job’ of raising and homeschooling my children.
A wise friend who was watching me work this week confirmed what I’ve been feeling for a while. She said ā€œI can see there isn’t any joy in this for you anymoreā€.
And so, in the pursuit of joy, new adventures, and living this precious life to its fullest, I’m stopping baking for now. And I’m excited to see what new possibilities will arise when I create space for them!

I will fulfil all the orders I’ve already got, but I won’t be taking any new orders going forward.

THANKYOU from the bottom of my heart to all you lovely people who have supported my business with your orders, encouragement and ideas. I am truly thankful.

The first (of many!) bakes this Good Friday - a Vegan Chocolate Fudge cake with vegan ganache & buttercream, plus some dark chocolate decorations I made that were supposed to be Easter egg shaped!!

I knew that summer must be coming when I got 3 orders for Icecream Cone cakes last week after not making one for months! šŸ¦

Mmmmm…..if there’s a better smell than freshly baked hot cross buns then I don’t know of it!! I made and shaped these buns yesterday, left them in the fridge overnight to slow-prove and then they just needed baking and glazing this morning. That’s breakfast sorted then! Recipes for classic and vegan hot cross buns can be found on my website - link in bio.
