We’ve loved developing our little learning space at Langton Green Pavilion and it’s now a busy hub for learning, with small group tuition, home education, Maths and English all running from here. 📚💛

It’s a great little spot, conveniently located right by the school and park, making it super handy for local families. And… we’re right next door to Langton’s Cafe ☕️🍰, so there’s always the option of a coffee and cake whilst your child attends their session! Langton’s Cafe

🔢✨ Place Value: the foundation of maths!

This week we’ve been making place value practical, hands-on and fun through games and activities! 🎲🧩

From 2-digit numbers all the way to millions and decimals, the children have been building their understanding of what each digit is really worth, developing the strong number sense they need for so many areas of maths.

Lots of learning, lots of fun, and plenty of those “aha!” moments! 💡👏

We loved welcoming back our wonderful group of Learning Lounge children yesterday, for our age 5-7 years home ed group.

We launched our new autumn block, ‘Superheroes of the Past’. Children learnt about Neil Armstrong, discussed characteristics of real-life heroes and played some spelling games linked to their learning.

Our younger group is now full, but we are excited to be launching our 11-13 Learning Lounge today, and we have more groups to follow soon 😊

✨ All set up and ready to go for this week’s 11+ Revision Course! ✨

The folders are ready, the games are prepped, the whiteboard is waiting… now all we need are our brilliant students! 📚🎲

Over the next few days, we’ll be bringing the key Kent 11+ concepts to life through a mix of engaging activities, interactive games and targeted teaching designed to build confidence as well as knowledge. Learning should be challenging and enjoyable!

We’ll finish with a realistic mock test, giving pupils the opportunity to experience exam conditions before the real thing. We’ll then use the results to identify individual strengths and the areas for them to focus on over the summer, helping every child head into September feeling more prepared and confident.

Wishing all of our students the very best for the week- we can’t wait to get started! 🌟

Our final weekly sessions took place this week with our wonderful Year 5 11+ groups. We recapped on common non-verbal reasoning types, worked through realistic maths paper test questions and finished with a team challenge to solve a verbal reasoning mystery. Well done to all of our Year 5 cohort for all of your hard work this year. We will see lots of you over the summer for our revision workshops and can’t wait to hear how you get on with the test in September! 🤩

A busy Saturday full of learning!

🤩 Our key stage 2 mental maths group smashed their work on multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000.

🔹🔶🔹Year 5 11+ groups have challenged themselves with a range of practical spatial reasoning questions.

📚Our monthly Year 4 11+ group have worked hard on a speed challenge to identify different word classes.

We loved welcoming our new Home Ed children to our first Learning Lounge session today! In our 5-7 years group, we created passports in order to start our journey around the world, explored phonics sounds and developed mental maths skills, before completing a maths puzzle to find out our destination for next week’s session- London! If you’d like to join one of our groups next week, get in touch! 🌟🏙️🍃
