Fire by friction workshop:

This one-day event is a great opportunity to gain some real insight and confidence in the fascinating subject of fire lighting.

Tremendously satisfying for both beginners and experienced bushcraft practitioners alike, who want to learn the ancient skill of making fire by friction.

During the day we will:

* learn different techniques for creating fire by friction.
* gain an understanding about the materials and preparation.
* create your own bow drill using foraged wood.
* be expertly guided through each step of the way.

About the instructor:

Gary Bailey is an experienced bush-craft facilitator with many years experience teaching survival and bushcraft skills. He is also a tree surgeon with an extensive knowledge of trees and the woodland environment.

£30 per person 10am until 4pm

Please message for dates - Saturdays and Sundays available - small group bookings on weekdays

Did you know the National Trust have agreed to remove all pay barriers from National Trust parks and gardens? They are doing all they can to support social distancing and the need for us all to enjoy nature and look after our own mental wellbeing at this difficult time. This means all grounds behind pay barriers are accessible and car parks will be free. Cafes, houses, shops will all be closed so take a flask with you 🥰
