🎃👻 MONSTER MASH COSTUME SWAP! 👻🎃

Our fantastic School Council are organising a Monster Mash Costume Swap on Thursday 22nd October, after the Harvest Festival! 🧙‍♀️🕷️

Do you have any Halloween costumes at home that your children have outgrown or no longer need? 🦇🧛‍♂️

Costumes can be dropped off at the school office from tomorrow. All donated costumes will then be available for everyone to browse and choose from at the swap! 🎃

A huge thank you to our wonderful School Council for organising this fantastic event! 🧡

Music

This week in music, the children engaged in some composition work. Using vocal, body and percussion sounds, and incorporating varied dynamics, they created a piece of work to represent different aspects of the sea. The children then had an opportunity to perform their pieces to the class.

Votes for Women!

This week in history the children have been using census data from 1911 to learn how Suffragettes used the census to highlight their protest. The children went on to create timelines of the Votes for Women campaign. Each group then presented their timeline and learning to the rest of the class.

Science

Children in KS1 collected fallen leaves during a science lesson about trees. They used magnifiers to closely observe the leaf structure and make sketches which then helped to categorise them into deciduous or evergreen.

A huge thank you to Aspens for coming into school today and delivering a fantastic Food Tech workshop with us! 👩‍🍳🥗

We explored different vegetables from all around the world and had lots of fun trying new flavours and sauces, including hoisin and sweet chilli. 🌍🥕🌶️

The children got creative making their very own colourful cheese and salad wraps – packed full of colour, flavour and plenty of healthy ingredients! 🌈🧀🥬

It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, trying new things and discovering that healthy food can be fun, colourful and delicious! 😋

KS2 French

KS2 worked really hard in their French lessons with Mrs Read this afternoon. Over the last few weeks, we have been doing lots of speaking, listening and reading, but today we increased the challenge by writing in French! Y3 and Y4 wrote sentences to describe themselves, while Y5 and Y6 practised changing elements of their sentences depending on whether a country was masculine, feminine or plural. Well done, everyone! 🌟
