Fiver Challenge

What an incredible achievement from our Year 6 pupils as they completed their Fiver Challenge! On Wednesday, the whole school had the opportunity to visit their fantastic stalls, where the children showcased a range of cakes, drinks, and exciting outdoor activities. It was wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm in action. Mr Perkes has been incredibly impressed with every pupil's contribution, effort, and dedication throughout the entire Fiver Challenge process....

Porthcurnick and Portholland Classes had a fantastic day taking part in an exciting STEM workshop delivered by George and the RAF Youth STEM team.

Working collaboratively, they designed, built and tested their own rockets, thinking carefully about how different design choices might affect their performance.

There was plenty of excitement as each rocket was launched and the children observed, evaluated and refined their ideas like real engineers. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, resilience and problem-solving on display, with everyone eager to improve their designs and learn from each test.

A huge thank you to George and the RAF Youth STEM team for delivering such an engaging and inspiring day. We hope it has sparked a lasting interest in STEM and encouraged some of our future scientists and engineers!

Cornish Pasties

Today, Porthluney Class completed their DT unit by designing and making their own Cornish pasties. Not only did they create their delicious fillings, including vegetable, traditional steak and spiced apple, but they also made the pastry from scratch! The children worked incredibly hard throughout the project and should be very proud of their achievements. Well done, Porthluney Class!

Eco Friendly Plant Pots

As a wonderful way to finish their science unit, Summer's Class made eco-friendly plant pots using recycled newspaper before planting their own plants. The children enjoyed learning about sustainability and how everyday materials can be reused to help protect the environment. They are excited to care for their plants and watch them grow over the coming weeks.

Year Six – Oscars Ceremony

This evening, we celebrated our Year 6 pupils as they prepare to move on to the next chapter of their journey. They performed two songs and a heartfelt poem filled with special memories before receiving their leavers’ books and hoodies. Thank you to all the parents and families for your continued support and for helping to make the evening so memorable. For just five more minutes, they're Year 6!

Porthcurnick Class have been stepping back in time this week!

As part of our Ancient Egypt learning, the children created their own version of papyrus paper before designing and decorating beautiful Egyptian scrolls. They carefully used traditional Egyptian-inspired symbols and patterns to bring their work to life, and the finished scrolls look fantastic.

The class showed great creativity, patience and attention to detail throughout the project. Well done, Porthcurnick Class!
