Black History Month 2026: Honouring Our Communities
Throughout October, we celebrate Black History Month 2026, embracing this year's UK theme, "Honouring Our Communities." The theme recognises the achievements, contributions, resilience, and rich heritage of Black communities, while encouraging us to reflect on the importance of inclusion, equality, and belonging within our workplaces and wider society.
We have curated a display of books, resources, and information to support learning and discussion (in Truro Kspa Library) during Black History Month.
We also encourage staff to explore the NHS Employers Anti-Racism Hub: 👉 https://www.nhsemployers.org/anti-racism-nhs which provides guidance, resources, and practical actions to help create a more inclusive NHS.

Cornwall NHS Ethnic Minority Group Black History Month Celebration EVENT:
We are pleased to promote the FREE Cornwall NHS Ethnic Minority Group Black History Month event, taking place on Thursday 15th October in the RCHT Post-Graduate Lecture Theatre (10:00am-3:00pm).
This event offers an opportunity to celebrate our diverse local communities, connect with colleagues, hear discussions from Trust Board representatives on matters relating to ethnic minority policies, and learn from a specialist consultant speaking about Sickle Cell Disease and support for patients.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy complimentary tasters of cuisine from four different nations and visit the Community Marketplace. You are welcome to attend for as little or as much of the day as suits you.
