Got a bright holiday photo you love? Bring it to the barn tomorrow, thisWednesday.

Two watercolour sessions, Wednesday 26 August — take one, or take both for £32.

9–10.30 — Watercolour Essentials, £15
One of our best-selling workshops. Water and pigment under control: tone, values and hues worked through as practical exercises, so you finish the morning making the mark you meant to make instead of hoping.

11–1 — Sunlight & Shadows, £20
Then put it to work on a photo of your own. We take a bright travel shot — a whitewashed wall, a harbour, a street in full sun — and simplify it: decide where the light is, mix shadows that carry colour instead of going grey, and leave out everything that is not helping. You go home with a painting of somewhere you have actually been.

Do both and the morning hands the afternoon its tools — £32 for the pair, against £35 separately.

Suitable for anyone comfortable holding a brush. All materials supplied, tea, coffee and cake throughout, and your ticket brings 10% off in the café and shop. Just bring a photo.

Two sessions Wednesday, and they are built to stack. Take one, or take both for £32.

11 am –1 pm — Sunlight & Shadows, £20

Light is the real subject. The wall, the street, the water are just what the light happens to be falling on. Two hours of short exercises on placing your lights before the first wash, mixing a shadow that carries colour instead of going grey, getting the value structure right, and the edges that let sunlight look like it is actually happening.

Do both and the morning hands the afternoon its tools — £32 for the pair, against £35 taken separately.

Two sessions also available Saturday. Last spaces available.

International Award Winning Artist Carla Jennings is back at the barn. 😀

Monday 24 August, 10–4 — Abstract Botanical, £55 a place. 🎨 Last spaces available.

Inks, acrylic, pens and stencils, layered into an abstract botanical piece full of energy and detail. Carla teaches process over outcome: how to let go of perfectionism, how to bring movement and light into your marks, and how to treat a happy accident as something to build on rather than fix.

Nobody leaves with just one piece — and her days always sell out.
