Truro High School for Girls is celebrating its highest GCSE results since the pandemic, with more than 70% of grades awarded at Grade 6 or above. 🎉

The results represent a tremendous achievement for the Year 11 cohort, with girls celebrating everything from an outstanding ten Grade 9s to grades that have surpassed predictions and personal milestones that reflect extraordinary determination and resilience.

New Head, Nicola Dudley, said:

“We are absolutely delighted with this year’s GCSE results and incredibly proud of every one of our girls. These are our strongest GCSE results since the pandemic and are a wonderful reflection of the commitment, determination and resilience of this year group. Girls definitely do thrive at Truro High, and today we are celebrating exactly that.”

We look forward to welcoming many of them back in September! Our Sixth Form offers so much more than academic qualifications. Our girls will have the opportunity to take part in the Leiths Confident Cookery Course, complete a TEFL course, undertake Lifeguarding qualifications and benefit from our Future Ready and university application programmes. As well as all the THS sporting, creative and performing arts opportunities. We want every girl to leave Truro High with the qualifications, confidence, independence and real-world skills to take on whatever comes next.

The wait is nearly over! We’re looking forward to welcoming our Year 11 girls and their families to Truro High School on Thursday 20 August to celebrate GCSE Results Day together.

Results will be available from 9.00am in the Sixth Form Centre, with members of our Senior Team on hand throughout the morning to offer support, answer questions and help girls feel confident about their next steps. We’ll also have coffee and pastries available throughout the morning.

If you’re unable to join us in person, results will be sent to your school email address, with a hard copy posted out on the day.

Celebrating Our Class of 2026! 🎓

Truro High School for Girls is celebrating the individual journeys of its Year 13 students as they receive their A Level results and prepare to take their next steps into university, further study and their chosen careers, with 99% pass rate and more than 82% of the year group now set to attend their first-choice university.

Students will now be heading to some of the UK's leading universities to study a diverse range of subjects. Destinations include University College London (UCL) to study English and History, the University of Bath for International Management, Exeter and Manchester for Business Management, Cardiff to read Philosophy, Leeds for Graphic and Communication Design, Falmouth University for Photography and the University of Southampton for Psychology.

Others are choosing equally exciting pathways, including apprenticeships in the Isles of Scilly and gap years in Australia and elsewhere around the world.

More than a third of the year group also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with every student achieving an A or A* grade – an outstanding 100% success rate.

Nicola Dudley, the new Head of Truro High School for Girls, said:

“We are incredibly proud of every one of our girls and, most importantly, of the individual journeys that have brought them to this point. At Truro High School, our bespoke education means that we really get to know each girl as an individual – understanding her strengths, nurturing her interests and supporting her to develop the confidence to pursue her own ambitions."

The THS Sixth Form combines strong academic teaching with individual mentoring, enrichment opportunities, High Performance Learning and our THS Future Ready Programme, helping students to develop the independence, resilience and ambition needed for life beyond school.

What an incredible sight tonight as we gathered at the Roseland Observatory based at Truro High School for Girls to witness this extraordinary eclipse. 🔭🌌

There is something truly magical about watching the night sky unfold before your eyes and experiencing the moon casting a shadow on the Earth — and even more special when you can experience it as part of your school education.

At Truro High, girls in Years 9, 10 and 12 have the unique opportunity to study GCSE Astronomy in just one year as part of our extensive extracurricular programme. 🌟

From observing the planets and stars to understanding eclipses and the wider universe, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of astronomers, scientists and space enthusiasts.🌙🔭✨

A message to the Class of 2026 - As A Level Results Day approaches, we are looking forward to seeing you and celebrating your achievements together on Thursday 13 August. ✨

Results will be available from 8.00am in the Sixth Form Centre, where girls and their parents are warmly invited to join us. Our Senior Team will be there to offer support, answer questions and help with any university decisions.

Results will also be available on the iSAMS school portal.

In our recent annual parent survey, we were delighted to hear so many positive reflections about life at Truro High.

☀️ What an incredible week our pupils have enjoyed on St Agnes in the beautiful Isles of Scilly!

With glorious sunshine all week, the girls embraced every opportunity for adventure, from kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding to coasteering. They also enjoyed the unforgettable sight of countless puffins around the island. 🌊

It has been wonderful to hear parents describe their daughters returning home "full of excitement," "buzzing," and having "loved every minute." Above all, it was a week filled with friendship, laughter and unforgettable memories!

🇸🇪🥾 Our Gold Duke of Edinburgh students are officially underway on Day 1 of their practice expedition in Sweden!

Over the next few days, the girls will be putting their navigation, teamwork and resilience to the test as they explore the beautiful Swedish landscape.

We wish them the very best of luck and can't wait to follow their adventure!

Ending the school year on a high! ✨

We are incredibly proud to share another fantastic achievement for Truro High School for Girls. We have been commended as Independent Girls' School of the Year in the Independent School of the Year Awards, adding to what has already been an exceptional year.

This recognition comes just after the wonderful news that we are the only independent school in Cornwall to be awarded a Significant Strength in our recent inspection.
