🔤 Phonics training for our Primary trainees! ‍✨

Our Primary trainees have been getting to grips with phonics this week, developing their understanding of how children learn to read 📖 and exploring ways to support early reading in the classroom.

🌟 ITaP Deliberate Practice in Action! 🌟​

This week, our Secondary trainees have been putting their learning into practice during their ITaP on Modelling, and we have been incredibly impressed with the commitment, reflection and professionalism they have shown.​

From carefully rehearsing explanations and worked examples to refining their use of live modelling and questioning, trainees have embraced deliberate practice with
enthusiasm and purpose. By breaking teaching down into small, manageable steps and practising them repeatedly with feedback, they are developing the habits and
techniques that make a real difference in the classroom.​

A huge well done to all our trainees for their hard work, and thank you to our mentors and partnership schools for supporting this vital part of teacher development.​

Thank you for hosting us, Treviglas Academy!

We were delighted to welcome 12 Secondary SCITT trainees to Treviglas yesterday as part of their ITaP week!
The main focus of the day was modelling, exploring the specific learning question: 'How can I use modelling effectively to ease cognitive load and facilitate pupil progress?'
During the visit, the trainees observed a variety of lessons across the school. They also shared some wonderful verbal feedback, praising both the welcoming ethos of our school and the excellent teaching practices they saw in action.
A huge thank you to all the staff and students who made our visitors feel so welcome.

🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Teaching Assistants! 🌟​

Today, we want to recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution that Teaching Assistants make to our schools every single day.​

From supporting pupils' learning and wellbeing to helping create inclusive and engaging classroom environments, Teaching Assistants are an invaluable part of school communities. Their dedication, patience, and expertise make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people.​

We are also incredibly grateful for the support Teaching Assistants provide to our trainee teachers. By sharing their knowledge, experience, and understanding of pupils' needs, they play a vital role in helping trainees develop confidence, refine their practice, and grow into successful teachers.​

They’ve been developing practical strategies to use in their placement schools, helping to create positive, purposeful learning environments where all pupils can thrive. 👏✨
