Today we’re celebrating Megan, our lovely Early Years Practitioner in the Baby Room at St. Ives, who joined the Daisy Fays family in May 2026! 🌼

Although Megan is still relatively new to the team, she has already brought such a warm and caring energy to the Baby Room. Her gentle approach and enthusiasm help create a nurturing environment where our littlest explorers can feel safe, supported, and ready to discover the world around them. ✨

🎉 Double Birthday Celebrations at Daisy Fays! 🎂💛

Today we’re celebrating two wonderful members of the Daisy Fays family — Caitlin and Sarah! 🌟

🌱 Caitlin – Roseland
Caitlin joined our Roseland setting in June 2025 as an Apprentice in the Toddler Room. Since starting her journey with us, she has brought enthusiasm, kindness, and a real eagerness to learn. It’s wonderful to see her growing in confidence as she supports our little explorers through play, learning, and discovery every day. 💛

📚 Sarah – Head Office
We’re also celebrating our incredible Training Support Officer, Sarah, who has been part of Daisy Fays since November 2023. Sarah plays such a vital role in supporting our apprenticeship programme across Cornwall, helping apprentices, teams, and nurseries stay connected throughout their learning journeys. 🌟

Her dedication, knowledge, and encouragement make a huge difference to so many people across Daisy Fays — and we truly couldn’t do what we do without her! 💐

🎉 Happy Birthday, Imogen! 🎂🌱💛

Today we’re celebrating Imogen, our wonderful Toddler Room Apprentice at Tresillian, who joined the Daisy Fays family in September 2025! 🌼

Since starting her journey with us, Imogen has brought enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine eagerness to learn to the Toddler Room. She is developing her confidence and skills every day while supporting our little explorers as they learn, play, and discover the world around them. ✨

This week at Daisy Fays Roseland we have continued with our topic 'People who help us', exploring the many jobs and professions of those who help and understanding why they help us. The children have been learning about different job roles, learning new words and expressing their own knowledge and understanding of how people help us. Through a variety of activities, the children have been able to pretend to be postal workers, writing and sending mail. Doctors, making their friends better and firefighter, rescuing people and putting out the fires. And understanding the importance being safe.

For the past two weeks in the baby room at Daisy Fays Falmouth our focus had been the weather.
The book we focused on for the past two weeks was ‘Elmers weather’ by David McKee. We have explored the different types of weather in the book in different sensory experiences on a daily basis. We have explored water play with colanders, ice balls, rainbow rice, rainbow pasta, wool, gravel, paint and pom poms.
For the second week of our theme we focused on rainbows and colours and did lots of colourful activities such as building with rainbow bricks, threading pipe cleaners into colanders and mark making every day using crayons, paint, paint pens and pencils in the colours of the rainbow! It was a bright and colourful couple of weeks! 🌈 ☔️ ☀️ ⛅️ ❄️

This week at our Falmouth Preschool we continued our pirate theme, which naturally led us into the magical world of mermaids.
The children enjoyed getting creative, making their very own pirate hats and mermaid crowns, as well as designing colourful mermaid tails and creating beautiful mermaid silhouette pictures.
Our sensory trays provided lots of opportunities to develop our early writing skills, as the children practised patterns, shapes and letters in a fun and engaging way.
We’ve also been busy developing our mathematical skills. The children explored new number puzzles and enjoyed sorting, counting and matching shells and a variety of pirate-themed objects.
One of the highlights of our week was harvesting our home-grown carrots! The children were fascinated by the different shapes and sizes and helped to clean them ready to enjoy as part of our snack.
We’ve been keeping active too, developing our gross motor skills through dancing with scarves, moving to music and joining in with lots of our favourite songs.
As we reach this special time of year, we are also saying goodbye to some of our children as they begin their exciting journey into big school. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you and wish you all the best as you begin this next chapter.
A huge thank you to all our families for the lovely cards and thoughtful gifts. Your kindness means so much to the whole preschool team.

🌟 Celebrating Zara’s Achievement! 🌟

What a fantastic milestone for Zara! 💛 After joining Daisy Fays as an apprentice in September 2024, she has now successfully completed her Level 3 Early Years qualification and is continuing her journey as a qualified practitioner in our Helston Baby Room. 🌼

We’re incredibly proud of how far she has come and can’t wait to see all she achieves in this next chapter! 🎓✨

💛Makaton International Awareness Day 2026💛

This Friday, 28th August, we’re celebrating Makaton International Awareness Day — and this year’s theme is TOGETHER. 🤝✨

Makaton is all about creating connection, inclusion and understanding, helping people of all ages and abilities communicate, connect and build meaningful relationships.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We’d love for our families to be part of this special day!

There are lots of simple ways you can join in at home:

✨ Learn and practise the Makaton sign for “Together”
🎶 Sing and sign along with your little ones
📸 Share a special Makaton moment or photo with us
💛 Talk about why communication and inclusion are so important
🤝 Most importantly, celebrate the connections that Makaton helps us create every day!

You can also join The Makaton Song Launch Party online on Friday 28th August from 2:00–3:00pm (UK time) via Zoom. The event will celebrate the launch of the new Makaton Song with Electric Umbrella.

Let’s come TOGETHER to celebrate communication, friendship, inclusion and every little voice. 🌈💛
