Currently creating a new centreboard for Ad Astra. A chunk came off whilst Christopher and Sarah were sailing her so it's time to turn a sheet of AA grade marine ply into a lovely new board. The basic shape is cut out, so now I need to create the chamfer on each edge (3"max according to the rules), sand it down, drill a few holes, and varnish it.

Sarah’s first (and very much hoping not the last) outing in Ad Astra ⛵️ A very chilled cruise across Carrick Roads to a beach for pasties and tea. Few more things for the fixing list but a lush afternoon sailing.

Long ago Christopher and I both decided that "wild camping" was not the same as "camping rough". After an enjoyable day of dinghy cruising, its only natural to round things off with a lovely mushroom, tomato and onion omelette, cooked on an open fire, accompanied by hot drinks and a gin and tonic.
