Amazing Engineering Success! 🚀

Congratulations to Tegan, who achieved an incredible D*D*D* in their BTEC National Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, alongside an A* in A Level Mathematics.

They chose to study at Truro and Penwith College because it offered the opportunity to combine a practical engineering course with an A Level, helping them develop a broad range of skills for the future.

💬 Tegan’s advice for future students:

"Don't be afraid to choose a BTEC. The idea that they're the easy option is outdated. They'll get you just as far in life."

With an offer to study Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield, Tegan is now planning a gap year while applying for degree-level apprenticeships in the aerospace sector.

Well done on your fantastic results and best of luck for the future! ✈️🌟

🔧🎉 Katie is engineering an exciting future!

After achieving an outstanding DDD in the Extended Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, Katie is preparing to take her passion for design to Bournemouth University, where she will study Product Design.

A former Penair School student, Katie embraced the challenge of entering a field where women are traditionally underrepresented and quickly discovered a supportive community that helped her thrive.

💬 "I would tell girls thinking about doing engineering to just do it."

One of the highlights of her course was designing and manufacturing her own monitor stand from scratch, taking it from an initial idea through to a finished product. That experience helped solidify her ambition to design products that improve people's lives, particularly for older people and those living with disabilities.

Katie's story is a brilliant example of how engineering can combine creativity and innovation, opening doors to exciting careers and university opportunities.

Congratulations, Katie! We wish you every success as you begin your Product Design journey and work towards creating solutions that make a real difference. 💚✨

A huge and heartfelt thank you to West Pharmaceutical for hosting an inspiring visit for our first‑year engineering students. It was fantastic to see first‑hand the truly global impact of engineering taking place right here in Cornwall; a powerful reminder of the world‑class opportunities on our doorstep.
We are incredibly grateful to Joe and his team for such a warm welcome, an engaging tour, and for taking the time to inspire the next generation of engineers in Cornwall. It was also a real highlight to see several of our former students thriving and excelling in their engineering careers. A hugely motivating and memorable experience for everyone involved!

While marking some of the students recent CAD assignments, I had to save some of these as they really stood out.
Students have learnt how to use CAD software since joining us in September and can now produce detailed parts, drawings and these amazing renderings.
If studying Engineering is something that you are interested in please come and see us at our next open event
