💚 Helping young people discover opportunities in sustainability!

We recently visited Penrice Academy in Cornwall to run a green skills workshop with Year 10 students. We talked about strengths, transferable skills and the many different jobs linked to sustainability.

It was great to see students thinking about how their interests and talents could fit into these roles and discovering options they may not have come across before.

Thank you to the students for getting involved and sharing their ideas and to Penrice Academy and the Careers Hub Cornwall & Isles of Scilly for helping make the workshop happen. 👏

Are you home educating a young person in Cornwall, or do you know someone who is?

The Shaping Futures FREE careers workshop takes place on Friday 4 September at The Hive, Bodmin.

Delivered by the Education Business Partnership (EBP), this hands-on K'NEX Air Powered Cars workshop will help young people develop skills that employers value, including problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and engineering. Participants will design, build and test their own vehicle while exploring careers linked to STEM, engineering, technology and manufacturing.

Whether your young person already has a career goal in mind or is just beginning to explore their options, this is a great opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills and discover future career pathways.

Friday 4 September
10:00am to 12:30pm
The Hive, Bodmin

Open to all home-educated young people in Cornwall.

We also have a range of other workshops on offer, including LEGO Robotics, Careers Pop-Up Sessions, Project Management Skills and Healthy Cornwall family cooking sessions.

Whether their results were what they hoped for or plans now need to change, ChatFuture offers free careers information, advice and guidance for young people in Cornwall.

They can get help exploring their options, finding a course, considering an apprenticeship, looking for work or simply working out their next step.
