Little Fox Education A playful approach to solving educational and behavioural difficulties Hope to speak soon! Emilie

I established Little Fox Tuition when I realised how much impact I could have on children if I had more one to one time with each of them. I knew I could help children make far more progress without the limitations of the mainstream classroom and I love nothing more than seeing children have fun and fully engage in their learning. See how your child gets on by booking a 30 minute trial session then we can discuss your child's needs from there.

‘But why would natural selection have promoted behaviour that looks purposeless and clearly has costs- it uses energy and can be noisy & attractive to predators or cause injury. It is simple - it’s because play has survival benefits that outweigh the costs.’

In the latest issue of playnationmag I was reading about this interesting discussion at the conference about the evolutionary function of play.

This is fascinating & really highlights the importance of play we need it and we need to promote it not as a nice to have but as an integral part of children’s home & school life.

I started as a solo tutor expanded the business with 5 tutors covering Cornwall trained as family worker & attachment play specialist and now as a play therapist.

But I simply can’t do it all.

The specialist tuition has been incredible & my bread & butter but for now I must shut those doors while I focus on my play therapy training.

Attachment play training will be predominantly as webinars or live talks - DM me to book in ‘play for challenging behaviour’.

And I will keep writing my free blog & sharing tips, ideas & research about play/ attachment play & my PT journey.

I also offer independent workshops for children and families during school holidays.

Thank you to everyone I’ve worked with so far & to every child- you always brighten my day! Here’s to the next chapter supporting children with trauma through their most difficult times 🙂🦊💚

I was so happy to read this!
All of my career I have been fighting the corner for better SEND provision, training and support in various ways so it’s great to see this happening.
Teachers Ive worked with, especially ELT’s, often don’t have the basics and well you don’t know what you don’t know right?
Small changes and deeper levels of knowledge can go a long way in supporting a child with any level of need.
I’d love to see mandatory training on play as well but that’s for another day 😆

A few years ago I ran small week long private summer camps and this reel just popped up about it!

Was a cracking few weeks & we were surprised to find nervous parents saying their children couldn’t go to other camps because they would be excluded or they were all focused around sports activities.

I don’t have the space to run these now but I still get asked about them. One day I’ll start these up again with the inclusive play based ethos that I think camps & clubs should all have.

I know lots of clubs are really inclusive now so it’s great to see that shift and we learnt through doing them that planning the whole day wasn’t necessary the children just wanted to play 🙂

*parents all gave permission at the time to use the children’s photos

Pace is VITAL. The classroom is fast, home lives are getting more jam packed. So I always take the pace down in my sessions. Sometimes this means doing 1/2 or none of what I planned but thats ok.
I make sure there’s opportunities to chat & tell me their fun stories, to stop & cuddle Sheldon or take time to let off steam. The children love it and the work we then do is always more productive.
Taking it at THEIR pace & not mine subtly shows respect, builds relationships & confidence. But I know some would frown on this and say you’re being paid to help them progress so cram it in. I’m just not like that and I still get the results 🤷‍♀️😊
