Welcome to the page for St Michael's Pre-School located in the warm and friendly village of Hilperton. This wonderful and cosy pre-school first opened in 1982 and has been guiding the development of children in Hilperton and the surrounding areas ever since. Our members of staff are local residents and many are mums whose children have attended St. We believe that a high adult to child ra

tio is essential in providing good quality pre-school care. In our pre-school we have at least one member of staff to each six children in the three and four-year-old sessions, and one member of staff to each four children in the two-year-old session. Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Our keyworker system enables us to ensure a planned curriculum tailored to the needs of each individual child. By means of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult input, we offer a curriculum which leads to nationally approved learning outcomes and prepares children to progress with confidence to the National Curriculum at the age of five years. Parents play a key role in our pre-school and we actively encourage you to get involved with the committee and day to day assistance during sessions.

Thank you to all of our families for the support and kindness over the past year. We had a lovely afternoon saying cheerio to the children moving on to primary school and we wish them all the best for the future. Thank you also for the generous gifts of thanks to the staff, we have all enjoyed being part of the children's journey through their early years. Have a lovely summer break, with our best wishes to you all 🙂

The children have loved exploring our under the sea theme this week 🐠

We’ve made glittery sea creatures, painted pictures, learnt about different creatures in the ocean and enjoyed lots of creative messy play along the way ✨

The children especially enjoyed decorating starfish and jellyfish and talking about all the creatures that live under the sea 🐙🐋🐡
