🌍 Languages from around the world were celebrated at Walwayne Court Primary School in Trowbridge as pupils and staff marked the European Day of Languages.

Children dressed to represent different countries and new words and phrases, shared vocabulary with friends and took part in activities celebrating other cultures.

And there is plenty of linguistic diversity to celebrate – an impressive 16 different languages are spoken within the school community! 👏

Today (26th September) is European Languages Day!

On Wednesday, we celebrated our own world languages day. We started the day with an assembly to explain the importance of learning a language and celebrating the diversity in our school. Did you know that 16 different languages are spoken at Walwayne?

Then, all classes took part in activities linked to language and countries - there was a great buzz around school! The variety of outfits, flags and vocabulary was fantastic and the children really enjoyed teaching their friends their word or phrase and getting them to guess what country/language their outfit represented.
