Granny Smith's Nursery Granny Smith’s Nursery, has been established in Troon town centre since 1989. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year and offers a wide range of sessions.

We are a day care nursery based in troon that caters for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. There is space for 62 children at any one time We have a baby room from 6weeks to 2 years, a toddler area 2-3 yrs and a playroom offering pre school education for 3-5 yrs, school drop off and collection facilities offered as well as holiday cover where available. All staff have an Education a

nd Care qualification and regularly attend in-service to update their knowledge and skills. Added to this all staff and students have been Disclosure checked before commencing employment or placement. Staff are also registered with the Scottish Social Services Council,
The teacher holds GTC registration. The length of session offered to each family is dependent on their individual needs and every effort is made to accommodate specific requests. Nursery is open Mon to Friday 7.30 am until 6pm daily.

Yesterday we explored the amazing world of sheep shearing and discovered why sheep need their haircut! πŸŒžπŸ’š

We had a parent volunteer this activity to develop our outdoor community champions role.

🐏 Before ➑️ fluffy fleece
πŸ‘ After ➑️ cool, clean and comfy!

We learned: 🌿 Why shearing helps sheep stay comfortable in warmer weather
🧼 How cleaner fleece means less mud and mess
πŸ‘ How shearing supports lambing and animal care
🧢 The journey from wool to cosy jumpers, blankets and crafts

A huge thank you to everyone involved in this hands-on learning experience! πŸ‘β€οΈ Our learners loved seeing the before-and-after transformation and getting up close to the wonders of wool. 🀩
