Tring School Tring School is a secondary school with academy status, with approximately 1,500 pupils aged between 11 and 18.

Tring School was founded in 1842 by the Church of England. At that time it was built in the middle of Tring where the Library now stands. In 1956 it moved to its present site at the top of Mortimer Hill, to the east of the town, and in 1969 was re-organised to be an all-ability 11-19 co-educational school. Although Tring School has changed beyond recognition in its 150 years, it remains a voluntary controlled church foundation, administered and supported by Hertfordshire County Council, with five of its Governors being nominated by the Diocesan Education Committee. Tring School now has approximately 1500 pupils on roll including a Sixth Form of around 320 students. Most pupils come from the town of Tring and the surrounding villages of Wigginton, Aldbury, Long Marston, Wilstone and Little Gaddesden. Additional pupils will be admitted from outside the area if there are places available. At this exciting time in its development, curriculum breadth, high standards and community involvement are at the heart of the school’s work. Collaboration with other educational providers is adding to the opportunities for Tring students, and the development of the school’s facilities for community and life-long learning is moving forward rapidly.

Our GCSE Spanish students are off to Spain on a cultural and linguistic trip organised by the MFL department. They'll be attending a Spanish course at a local school 🏫 exploring the historic wonders of Córdoba and Granada, and enjoying the town of Torremolinos 🌴.

As a large number of visitors are expected, please use the town centre car parks once the school car park is full.

Sixth Form Open Evening (September 2027 Entry) - Thursday 15 October - 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Our Sixth Form Open Evening is designed specifically for current Year 11 students and parents/carers interested in joining us in September 2027.

5:30 PM – 8:00 PM: Subject Fair and opportunity to view the school (explore at your leisure)

5:45 PM Welcome Talk: Recommended for Ascott & Claydon students

6:30 PM Welcome Talk: Recommended for Halton & Waddesdon students

(External students are welcome to choose whichever welcome talk best suits their schedule).

Reminder: Drop-Off, Pick-Up, and Parking

To keep our students safe, school car parks and grounds are strictly reserved for staff and school buses between 8:20 am – 8:45 am and 2:50 pm – 3:20 pm. Other vehicles are not permitted on site during these windows.

Please refrain from parking across residential driveways or garages, particularly along Mortimer Hill. We strongly encourage you to use local town car parks for all drop-offs and collections.

Paris 2026: An Unforgettable French Trip!

What an incredible few days in Paris. Our GCSE French students have had the absolute best time exploring the city and putting their language skills into action.

Highlights of our trip included:
🍫 Discovering the secrets of French chocolate making (and sampling plenty of it!).
πŸ“š A 2-hour immersive French lesson where our students were specifically commended for their amazing enthusiasm, fabulous manners, and superb behavior!
β›ͺ Visiting Notre Dame and admiring the views from SacrΓ©-CΕ“ur, plus so many more iconic sights!

A massive thank you to the fantastic staff members, Mr Deller and Ms Quionquion, who gave up their time to accompany and make this experience possible.

Au revoir, Paris!
