Local childcare spaces available
Dylan’s Den is proud to be part of the Treorchy community, with a friendly team known and loved by local families. We have spaces for toddlers and pre-schoolers aged 2+, plus After School Club places until 6pm for children aged 3–11. Funding accepted including Childcare Offer for Wales, REP and Flying Start. With Treorchy Primary School breakfast club from 8am and Dylan’s Den open until 6pm, we support full-day childcare for working families. Pop us a message to find out more 07519 041890/ 07802469211

Families across Rhondda Cynon Taf can now benefit from expanded Welsh Government-funded childcare for two-year-olds, helping more children access high-quality early years education and giving parents and carers extra support with childcare.

From today, all parents and carers of children aged two in Rhondda Cynon Taf will be offered up to 12.5 hours of Welsh Government-funded childcare each week, starting from the term after their child's second birthday until the term in which they turn three. The offer is available regardless of where families live within the county borough.

The expansion is part of the Welsh Government's commitment to creating a simpler childcare system that is easier for families to understand and access, while continuing to provide high-quality support for children's development. The immediate priority is to ensure all two-year-olds in Wales are offered 12.5 hours of funded childcare by 31 March 2027.

The childcare will be provided through approved childcare settings across Rhondda Cynon Taf, giving children opportunities to learn, play and develop important skills in a supportive environment.

Families who are eligible will receive a letter inviting them to apply. Parents and carers who believe their child may be eligible but have not yet received a letter can contact [email protected] for further information.
