Our little Doves enjoyed a lovely walk around our local area, where we had the opportunity to visit the Silverstone Museum.
The children were excited to explore the museum and showed lots of curiosity as they looked at the different race cars, artwork and interesting trinkets on display. They enjoyed talking about what they could see and sharing their thoughts and ideas with their friends and adults.
During our outing, the children also enjoyed a special treat as we sat outside together and shared some yummy ice creams! The children were encouraged to make their own choices by selecting which ice cream they would like for themselves and helping to choose ice creams for their friends. They also had the opportunity to practise their independence and confidence by helping to pay at the desk.

As we walked around the local area, we continued to develop the children's understanding of road safety. We talked about the importance of stopping at the road, looking carefully to the left and right, listening for traffic and making sure it was safe before crossing. The children were encouraged to take part in these discussions and demonstrate their understanding as we walked.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore their local community, develop their independence and confidence, practise making choices, and learn how to keep themselves safe while out and about. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day and created some lovely memories together!🏁🕊🌞

This week at doves the children enjoyed plenty of creative activities, with large-scale chalk drawings and painting experiences giving everyone the chance to express themselves and explore using all their senses. 🎨

A special delivery arrived this week and after helping to unpack, the cardboard boxes quickly became part of the children’s play, turning into cosy dens, transport creations, and exciting spaces to explore. This sparked lots of imaginative play while also encouraging the children to think about space, size, and measure. 💗

With the sunshine on our side, we spent lots of time outdoors, exploring the dinosaur themed sandpit, enjoying picnics and having great fun on our new slide. ☀️

We also shared a special moment as we said goodbye to one of our little friends who is going to be enjoying more time at home with mummy 🥰
The children helped make a beautiful card to wish them well 💛

Our sensory play continued with a tray filled with oats and lentils, along with different sized containers and spoons, perfect for scooping, pouring, and exploring. 🕊️💗

This week we have been making the most of the lovely weather with a week full of fun, learning, and exploration! ✨️📚

Our children have enjoyed lots of water play to help keep cool, as well as free painting in the garden where they could express their creativity outdoors. 🎨💦

We've also had some wonderful baking experiences, making fresh bread and delicious oat cookies. The children enjoyed weighing and measuring the ingredients, mixing everything together, and watching their creations come to life. 🍞🍪

Following the children's interests, we set up a Teddy Bears' Picnic, encouraging imaginative role play, sharing, taking turns, and lots of conversations with friends. 🧸🧺

Of course, there has also been plenty of fun in the sandpit, where the children have been busy digging, building, and exploring together. 🏖️

What a fantastic week of learning through play, making memories, and having lots of fun! 💗🕊

We’ve also been super grateful for air-conditioning 🤭🙌🏼

This week we had a special visit from the window cleaner, and the children were completely fascinated. The children wanted to make a picture for him, so we all worked together to create a lovely card to say thank you. 💌

In our messy and magical activities, we made homemade bread and explored playdough, enjoying hands-on learning and sensory fun.

At Doves, our ethos and curriculum focus on following the children’s interests and continuously extending their learning. This week, one child shared that their favourite meal is pizza. Inspired by this, our wonderful practitioners set up a homemade pizza activity! The children helped to cut and mix fresh, healthy ingredients, and we enjoyed our creations together for afternoon tea. 🍕

This past week at Doves, the children have been getting creative with lots of free painting, exploring colours, textures, and expressing themselves in their own unique ways 🎨

We’ve also been adventuring around the different rooms, enjoying some exciting new resources and discovering new ways to play and learn together 🧸

Our garden picnics have been a big hit too! The children have loved spending time outdoors, enjoying fresh air, good company, and tasty treats 🧺🌿

Inside, we’ve been exploring a variety of tuff trays, all thoughtfully set up to match the children’s interests. These activities have encouraged curiosity, imagination, and hands-on learning 🤍

We can’t wait for more fun-filled days ahead 💗🕊️

What a wonderful week we’ve had at Doves! 🌟

Last week was full of rich learning experiences, friendships, and lots of fun. We celebrated World Bee Day! The children explored our bee-themed sensory tray, using honey dippers and coloured rice to create bee patterns, all while developing their fine motor skills. They also enjoyed looking at bee books, talking about why bees are so important, and learning ways we can help care for them — like planting flowers and giving tired bees a little sugar water.
To extend the childrens learning futher we even got to taste some delicious honey together and used lots of descriptive words to talk about its flavour and texture. The children showed amazing curiosity and kindness while learning about our little buzzing friends 🐝🥰

Outside, we’ve been making the most of the sunshine! The children worked on their core strength using the balance beams in the garden and had so much fun dancing and singing along to nursery rhymes. This week’s favourite was definitely Sleeping Bunnies!

We hope everyone has had a lovely long weekend and we look forward to seeing you all again this week 💗🕊
