Capturing mark making 🎨

Last week we invited the children to bring along their favourite teddy bears to join us for a teddy bears picnic. It was lovely to see each child proudly introducing their bear, sharing stories about why they are so special and listening carefully as their friends did the same. These conversations helped develop confidence, communication skills and respect for one another.

Our story time was filled with some lovely bear-themed books, including Gozzle, The Bear Who Would Not Share and Goldilocks and the Three bears.

The children also learned how to draw a bear using simple circles, developing their fine motor skills and creativity. During circle time and our picnic, we enjoyed singing and moving to songs including Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, Turn Around, The Teddy Bears Picnic, and Round and Round the Garden Like a Teddy Bear.

Our teddy bears helped us celebrate one of our Cheeky Faces children turning four years old! 🎉🎂

We finished the week with teamwork as the children baked a chocolate cake. They spent much of the day carefully following the recipe, taking turns to crack the eggs, measuring the ingredients, mixing the batter and watching their cake come together.
